Beastly Mage
Naruto
Uzumaki (n154)
Greetings, Naruto fans. Beastly Mage here. Today's
CotD is an interesting one. Now, having one Naruto
on the field may seem OK, but having two at the same
time?! Granted, he does go to the Chakra Area at the
end of the turn, but it's possible you may only need
him out for one turn. On top of that he's deployed
in injured status if there's another Naruto, meaning
he comes out in his stronger state. He could be
useful in a Lightning/Clone Status deck, since he's
got the clone status characteristic as well as
growth. Try it and see.

[Naruto's Ninja Technique Journal]
This ninja can be deployed even when you already
have
"Naruto Uzumaki" in your village. In that case, this
Ninja
is deployed in injured status and sent to your
Chakra area
at the end of the turn.

This Naruto is pretty interesting. Like in the
manga, you can have several Narutos out at the same
time (A maximum of 3 in Constructed, if you use
Ninja Academy...)
Early in the game, getting out a 3/0 ninja is pretty
solid, if your original Naruto was healthy and not
very strong. Unfortunately this Naruto doesn't have
support. It would be fun to play the Clone Naruto in
Naruto's team to boost his power...(Though with the
R&R Shadow Clone, you can basically turn this
"clone" into a 3 support ninja.)
However, like so many of the cards I've reviewed, I
have to give it a low score as I take into
consideration the fact that the 3 Naruto slots are
better filled by guys like Control of Power. At turn
1, if you aren't playing a support Ninja for your 0
turn Combat ninja, your opponent will often get a
big boost of tempo over you as they swing with
Sasuke AoC and Temari AM or some other rediculous
combination. If the Naruto in your hand being
deployed for Naruto [NNTJ]'s effect didn't count as
your 1 ninja per turn, it might have been a bit
stronger. As it is, it just isn't consistent or
powerful enough to do much.
In limited, it has Growth, can be a 3 injured, and
if the rules at my store are anything like the rules
elsewhere, more than 3 copies of Naruto can be in
your draft deck. So this might be a cool card to
include, even if you do have Control of Power
floating around.
