RAR Rare
Sorry for my lack of reviews last week, but I was
busy with school work and was not too interested in
the bizarre extremely-rare promo week...
Today's card is a very interesting one that is
proving to be a solid 0-drop against Mental decks
and is finding its way into splashes as much as
Naruto does. Shikamaru is very useful in an out of
Mental decks, with his colossal MP of 4. The ability
to create Mental Battles when it is sent out to
battle and opposed can put a good scare on the
opponent, perhaps gaining you some tempo in the
process. In terms of stats, this Shikamaru leaves
some to be desired, but it does have growth, which
can give it a standard Shika support of 2. Best to
leave this one in the back as a support for Ibiki or
other Mental fare. I personally have just made a
Wind/Earth Byakugan deck with this one, and he is
quite fun to use, trust me ;)
Constructed: 4/5: A very solid 0-drop, just be
careful about the hand cost.
Limited: 3/5: Can be a surprise victor in battle,
but giving up the hand is costlier here...

Beastly Mage
Shikamaru
Nara (n138)
Hey there, Naruto Fans. Beastly Mage here once
again. Today's card is one of my personal favs:
Shikamaru Nara [IQ of 200 or higher]. Being able to
use a Mental Combat at turn 0 with such a whooping
amount of mental power is great. But, the discard is
the part that hurts. It's not a Chakra discard, but
a straight-to-the-discard-pile discard. This card
truly belongs in a dedicated Mental Power deck.
