Izumo Kamizuki
Introducing nameless ninja #5! Seriously though, not
much to set this guy apart. Run a good Iruka
instead. You can only give a total of a one point
boost to power in total, and only when he's standby
AND healthy. It wouldn't be so bad if the effect was
valid; you could use this guy in battle, then retire
him and have him boost people. As it is, the effect
doesn't make him worth running, and no mental power
or proctor status gives this guy a total of meh/5.

Kotetsu Hagane
Wait a sec... this guy looks familiar... Oh yeah!
He's a copy of a bad ninja! Read yesterday's review.
Constructed: 1/5
Limited: 1.5/5
PS: They only get the plus .5 because I think
they're the only turn two drop in the set.

Today's
card is one I’ve been trying out in my deck.
The advantages of this
card is that if it is a Stand-By Ninja you can pump
up one of your battling ninjas by +1. This effect is
very useful since this ninja is turn 2. I’ve had
some relevant success with it so far. His stats are
average for turn 2
However his effect is
not valid which hurts him a bit. Also you do have to
give up a card from your deck. After a while this
hurts you because you could get rid of something
good + get decked out.
My advice is you should
try this card out if you play lighting. But be
careful just because a card works for someone else
doesn’t mean it will work for you.

Lightning/Genjutsu
While this ninja is a Stand-by Ninja, you may
discard the top card of your deck to give +1/+0 to
one of your battling ninjas.
Hello again, as we review a semi-useful Chunin for
lightning decks. Izumo, and his partner Kotetsu, are
virtually identical in every way, save that Izumo is
Lightning while Kotetsu represents the Fire element.
As such, I will be reviewing the both of them in
terms of their respective use in their element.
Izumo is a good support to Lightning Decks, since
they tend to be lacking in the middle-curve ninja
department without combining with another element. A
3/2 is just right for the T2 chunin level ninja.
However, it is unlikely that you will be sending
Izumo or Kotetsu into battle, since their effects
are only active when they stay out of the fray.
These two guys' effects are somewhat similar to
Naruto [Nine Tailed Chakra] in that you can discard
cards from your deck to pump a ninja. However, this
is much more minor of a boost, and can only be used
once per turn. Since the boost is +1/+0, it's only
gonna be going to a Head Ninja. Standoffs can
definitely happen at almost any stage in the game,
so dropping one of these guys on turn 2 can help to
push your likely team of Genins over the top for
some early victories. Works well with Sasuke
[Analysis of Competence] or [Reason for the Late
Arrival] to get a potential 5/6 power Sasuke on turn
2, enough to score Outstanding Battle Rewards if
unblocked. I'd say that if your Lightning deck lacks
offence, Izumo can do well to push Narutos and
Irukas towards victories, while waiting for the 4th
Hokage or Might Guy to show up lol.
Kotetsu definitely has a lot of competition for
squeezing in to the already competive Fire deck.
Many peeps may opt to use more turn 3 Ninjas like
Hayate Gekko or be more focused on the good Turn 0/1
Sasukes. The problem with Kotetsu here is that Fire
decks tend to hit hard and fast, and this guy needs
to be a Standby ninja to use his effect. Hence, he
would be dead weight as an effectless Chunin in
battle. Your call here, folks.
Ratings
Constructed: 2.5/5 (Stats are fine for T2, may prove
useful in certain decks)
Limited: 3.5/5 (Getting some T2 Ninjas can be rare,
given that they are uncommon typically. Definitely
helps the curve and can win standoffs.)

I'm going to go ahead and
do a card review on two cards namely because
everything about them is almost identical. Today's
cards are Izumo Kamizuki and Kotetsu Hagane, Kotetsu
technically Friday's card but when you read the
review, you'll see why I'm reviewing Kotetsu today.
Looking at these cards, I felt like I was looking at
the same card really. Kotetsu and Izumo are both
Leaf/Chunin/Male, nothing really special here, with
3/1 healthy stats and 2/1 injured stats which are
standard Chunin ninja stats. Both have Genjutsu as
their combat attribute so one could use cards with
Genjutsu including a Fire card that I can't remember
the name of off-hand but if used by a ninja with
Genjutsu(doesn't require the attribute though), can
take -3/-3 off the opposing ninja's stats.
Both are also Turn 2,
which may hurt considering the better ninja you
could run in Lightning and Fire, and both can pump
up a ninja +1/0 for a discard of two cards, which is
why you may consider running other ninja. If you
build a deck with Lightning and/or Fire(and if you
pulled a Kakashi Hatake and Might Guy Super Rare,
you may consider it), you may opt to run either
Iruka Umino, Scapegoat or Iruka Umino, Reward
instead of Izumo and Mozuku, Discovery instead of
Kotetsu. Run these guys over other options in a
Fire/Lightning deck if you need one more ninja other
than Kakashi for the Genjutsu combat attribute.
Otherwise, there are better options for Turn 2 in
Fire and Lightning. By the way, Izumo is Lightning
and Kotetsu Fire, just forgot to state that earlier
as the only difference between them.
Limited:2/5(When having Turn 2 ninja is important)
Constructed:1/5(Lightning and Fire just have better
options)
