Beastly Mage
Kazekage (N-147)
Hey fellow Naruto fans, Beastly Mage once again
here. Today's card is Ninja 147, the Kazekage
(masked version). It's a pretty strong card. 6/3-4/2
is pretty good, and being a turn 6 is kinda standard
for Satoosa/Sannin-Level Ninjas. A Mental Power of 2
is pretty good, not as much as others, but still
quite good. Now, the effect is actually good in some
cases. If you're preparing something good to finish
the game, but need to buy some time, this guy can
help. Or, he can delay the inevitable, it all
depends on the situation.
Ratings:
Constructed: 4/5 in a Mental Power deck or a Sand
deck, 3/5 in any other.
Limited: 3/5
St. Yuriy
St. Yuriy or Yuriy (that's
my nickname. I prefer St., but I can understand if
you can't put that. I don't know, religious reasons
or something.)
Kazekage - T 6, 1 C
Sand l Satoosa l Male l MP: 2
H 6/3, I 4/2 (Ninjutsu)
[Request for Delay]
Valid: During your opponent's Mission Phase, you can
discard this Ninja to skip the Battle Phase of the
turn.
Finally Wind gets a satoosa rank ninja, basic kage
combat and support.
Besides Baki though, Wind has lacked a ninja with
over 4 combat. The effect though is the real kicker.
Unless they are pumped up with high power teams, you
really wouldn't want to get rid of him. I think it
would look better on a smaller ninja, but it doesn't
work on Kazekage. He is a big hitter for wind and
I'd run him or the other Kazekage if you are running
wind.
Constructed: 3.5/5
Limited: 3.5/5
Art: 2/5 (Kinda dull, but I like the Kazekage)

Welcome to the start of a new week with even more
cards to review.
This card has good stats for a turn 6. A good metal
power. Its effect could buy you some valuable time.
It is also good that the effect if valid.
However you have to give up a 6/3 ninja to stop your
opponent from battling this turn, which seems a
little steep in my books.
My advice is if you do play a wind deck with a lot
of sand ninjas Kazekage Masterpiece is a much better
choice.

Kazekage
Sand/Satoosa/Male/Wind/Mental Power 2
Entrance Cost 6, Hand Cost 1
Combat/Support: 6/3, 4/2 Injured
Valid: You may discard this Ninja during your
opponent's mission phase to skip the battle phase of
that turn.
Welcome welcome to another week of reviews. We start
of with the rare Kazekage aka. Orochimaru-in-assassin-mode.
This card is one of two main options for the top of
the curve in the dedicated Wind deck, so let's take
a good look at this one.
The turn cost and hand cost are standard for a
Satoosa, as are the stats. His effect is Valid,
which is especially nice given the effect. This card
is in a lot of ways like Hizashi Hyuga's from last
week. However, giving up a Satoosa to give basically
the same effect (i.e. delaying the inevitable) while
weakening your board position just hurts the
concept. One plus is that the effect is Valid, which
means that you can pop the guy off to stop the
battle phase even when he's about to die. That gives
this card a bit more buff in general than Hizashi.
Mental Power 2 is always a plus, giving Mental Wind
decks a nice finisher. On to the ratings!
Constructed: 2.75/5 (Just not a fan of this type of
sacrifice effect)
Limited: 4/5: Grabbing a rare Satoosa can never be a
bad thing...)
