Tuesday's card is
Shikamaru Nara, Whim from the Wrapper Redemption
program. He's a Turn 1 and has the same stats as his
turn 1 incarnations. It has a similar effect to
Shikamaru, IQ over 200 in that it can perform a
Mental Power Battle if it is opposed. However, this
one requires you to get a Heads on a Coin Flip to
trigger the Mental Power Battle, which gives you a
chance to trigger his effect as opposed to a
successful trigger for discarding cards like IQ over
200. Mental Decks can afford to discard cards as you
can have enough Female Ninja in the deck to make
Wish worthwhile, which means IQ's effect isn't
really detrimental. This one will more than likely
be dwarfed by the impact the new Shikamaru Nara,
Formation will have on the metagame. The fact that
Shikamaru is also easier to get also means you'll
see less of this.
Limited:2/5(that is if you can play it in Limited as
it is a promo card)
Constructed:2/5(its great stats are dwarfed by
better Shikamarus)
Beastly Mage
Shikamaru
Nara [Whim]
Another day, another card. This time it's one from
the wrapper redemption program. This version of
Shikamaru offers many things. First, 2 support.
Second, with a coin flip, mental power battle.
Problem is that you have a 50-50 chance of getting
the effect. It's not as good as his IQ incarnation,
which is one of the best turn 0's in the game, but
still pretty good. Try it and see.

This is a standard turn 1
Shikamaru that has 4 mental power. It's effect gives
you a 50% chance to start a mental battle when his
team blocks or is blocked.
First of all, we already have a Shikamaru which most
people will be playing 3 of. (Formation.)
Even if we didn't have that Shikamaru, this one is
just a bit inconsistent. When you really need the
mental you might flip tails. Or you may be about to
get an outstanding victory if you have a normal
battle, but you flip heads, and your team's mental
doesn't beat the other team by 5 as your Team Power
would. Since this is not an optional effect, it
could cause problems.
All in all it's a weak card. It's competing with
Shikamaru Nara [Formation] and it's effect isn't
reliable enough to include in a serious competitive
deck.
Constructed: 2/5
Art: 5/5 (The one part of this card that IS better
than [Formation])

Today we look at crappy
wrapper redemption Shikamaru. This Shikamaru is
disgustingly bad, worse than any other Shika to
date. In non mental decks, the new Formation is far
superior as it has a better, more consistent effect,
and in mental decks, the SR Shika will be a lot
better as it can start mental battles consistently
(must have 5 or more cards in your hand). This card
is just worthless. worthless.
Limited: 2/5 (Ok stats and ok
effect, but it’s wrapper redemption so you won’t get
it in Limited)
Constructed: 1/5 (Inferior to all
other Shikas, even Lazy Bum)
Art: 3/5 (Not great, but a whole lot
better than Shika F)

Tuesday is here and it is
once again time for a Card of the Day. Today we take
a look at a promo card from the wrapper redemption
program. Shikamaru Nara [ Whim ] will probably
replace most if not all Shikamaru [IQo200oH].
Instead of discarding from your hand to force mental
just flip a coin. You have a 50/50 chance of forcing
a mental battle, verse losing cards from hand. With
this card being a promo it appeals to not only the
gamer at heart but as well as the collector. All in
All this is a great card.
