Koharu Utatane
Very slightly better than Homura because a +1 in
support can help two ninja. However, would you
rather use your turn 5 drop to give, not everyone,
but only your leaf ninja a +1 boost, or bring out,
say, Kakashi or Asuma?
That's what I thought.

Friday's card is the
second of the two advisors, Koharu Utatane, and
she's not much better than yesterday's card. Her
bonus gives all Leaf Ninja +0/+1, which boosts the
back ninja. Adding support is pretty good
considering the fact that two ninjas on a team get a
benefit as opposed to 1, but the Turn 5, 1 Discard
cost,no Jonin rank and 0/0 stats really kill her.
She's kinda like playing 2 Hokage Rocks, but then
again, you can only play one of her at a time where
you can have 3 Hokage Rocks out at once. Think about
whether you want her just for the effect and like
with yesterday's card realize her effect only works
for Leaf ninjas. I like her a little more than
yesterday's card, but her downsides really hurt her
playability.
Limited:2/5(see above review)
Constructed: 2/5(same reason as yesterday's card).

Today we look at Koharu Utatane,
another bad earth 5 drop (though not as bad as
yesterday’s piece-O- crap). Koharu is a turn 5
earth ninja that would see play in Hokage Rocks
decks beside the fact that she’s Earth (requires a
handcost) and Hokage Rocks decks are inherently
Lightning/ Fire (Hokage Rocks is lightning and you
need to run either Fire or Water just to be
competitive in this day and age).
Besides the afore
mentioned downfall, Koharu might actually see some
play in Fire/ Earth decks where she can add 2
support to each team of three, which may not be
helpful on turn five, but could be late game. But
it’s a trade off since with her horrible stats
(unless your playing mental) she’s more like playing
mission in the ninja slot. Also, do really want to
have to look at her. She’s an old, wrinkly woman
that would really lower the hotness level of any
deck (Temari wouldn’t take well to her intrusion).
Overall Koharu is an ok card that may see some
play.
