Cross-Shaped Shuriken
You'll find as the game goes on that stat boosts
don't matter very much. If you really wanted to run
something, it would probably be Kunai; one chakra
for just enough power to boost your team over your
opponent's. I could think of a lot of better uses
for a jutsu using two chakra, though.

Cross-Shaped Shuriken
We continue our path week with another Jutsu card.
The advantages of this card is that anyone can use
it. Its chakra cost if 2 of anything, and it gives
the user +3 for the turn.
The disadvantages of this card is that the boost
only last for 1 tune. Also there are so many better
Jutsu cards out there.
My advice is that it is a good card but not many
people play cards to increase their ninjas power
anymore (except a few e.g. Chidori). People prefer
cards to get rid of ninjas instead of doing 1
damage. Try it out for yourself.
This is a jutsu I fondly remember using in my early
days of Naruto playing, as I did any of the
colorless jutsus. As I said for yesterday's card,
colorless costs are very flexible and friendly to
new players who haven't quite gotten proper deck
ratios down yet.
The effect of this jutsu is simple, like yesterday's
card Tree Climbing Training, yet is a bit more
proactive for sure. Giving the user +3 combat can
definitely be enough to snag a victory or can get an
extra BR. These types of combat tricks can catch
anyone off guard if they are unprepared with a
negation and just mindlessly sent out a team to
block. The main thing that could hinder this card is
that it costs 2 chakra to use, albeit colorless. One
could compare this card to Kunai, which is also a
cheap 1 colorless and adds a +2/+2 boost. I'd almost
say to go for Kunai over this, just because it can
be used earlier and is easier to add a 3 of to the
deck if you are just starting out. If you happen to
be using a Taijutsu deck, you have the luxury of
Leaf Hurricane, which is identical to this card and
costs 1 chakra less...
Constructed: 2.5/5: A decent combat trick, but this
is a relic from the olden days of Path to Hokage.
Limited: 3.5/5: Combat tricks work better in
limited, and I stand by that, easy to use and could
win some key victories.

Thursday's card is
Cross-Shaped Shuriken, a Lightning Jutsu that for 2
chakra of any choice lets you give a ninja +3/0.
Cross-Shaped Shuriken is something I've seen played
by many of the younger players I've encountered,
possibly because it can be played in any deck to to
its "colorless" Chakra cost. Cross-Shaped can give
your ninja the win if used right, but it does have
flaws. First, Cross-Shaped only increases combat,
which means it's only useful for your head ninja and
it becomes useless if your opponent is using Neji
Hyuga, Striking Chakra Points, who prevents the Head
ninja from using Jutsus. Second, a lot of cards can
make this card a bad idea, namely Kakashi Hatake,
Copy Ninja and Sharingan Eye from Coils of the
Snake(the one with Sasuke's picture). Both basically
steal the effect, which means your opponent gets the
bonus and not you. Lastly, Cross-Shaped may help out
now, but once it goes to the Chakra pile, it becomes
Lightning Chakra, useless if your other Jutsus
require Chakra of another type(i.e. most Water
Jutsus) so it's not as splashable as one might
think. This is a card for a decent Lightning or
Lightning hybrid deck to shore up weaknesses in
offensive boosts, but most colors have something
better(i.e. Hero's Water for Water, Chidori for
Fire, Great Fan for Wind). Even Lightning has
something better and that is the new Shadow Clone
Jutsu in Revenge and Rebirth, which allows back
ninja to use their support instead of their combat
and can increase total team power more than
Cross-Shaped.

Beastly Mage
Cross-Shaped Shuriken (j002)
Well, hello there. Beastly Mage once again with
today's card, Cross-Shaped Shuriken. In real life,
throwing stars aren't really as deadly as they say.
Ninjas used them more as a distraction before the
really bad weapon was used. In this game, however,
shuriken can be something else. Pumping up a ninja
can be a good thing... correction, IS a good thing.
Two of any chakra is a decent cost for +3/0, but
sometimes it's not what you really need. In a
Lightning deck, this can be very helpful, so try it
and see.

Effect: The target gets +3/+0 during this turn.
Well, I'm a bit iffy on this card.
Back when I ran a Fire/Lightning Deck, I had this in
there. But never in 2's or 3's. only ran 1.
Now that I use a Fire/Water/Wind Deck, I don't see
the need for this anymore. :/
+3/+0 is good, but i would'nt do that for 2 chakra.
Kunai is better, because for one +1 less, you can
save a Chakra.
Constructed: 3/5 [I guess it would'nt hurt in a
Taijutsu Deck, where all you do is pump up Lee, but
they have Leaf Hurricane]
Limited: 2/5 [Kunai just gets the job done better.
but if you can find room in your Deck to add this,
then use it]
Art: 4/5 [Sasuke looks cool throwing that Shuriken.
