Hisame: Smartest Ninja in
the Hidden Rain Village
Sorry for the short reviews this week, but it is AP
week, after all.
Abilities that activate when your team is completely
defeated shouldn't be able to see play. Use her in a
mental power deck, nothing else. Could also be good
in a side for a Water deck if you didn't want to run
non-water ninjas.
Limited: 1/5 (Are there any mental battle-inducing
cards in Curse of the Sand? I didn't see any...)
Constructed (Mental deck): 4/5
PS: When are these waterfall ninjas from? I think
I've seen all the filler arcs, and I don't remember
them.

Hisame [Smartest Ninja in
the Hidden Rain Village]
Rain/Female/Rogue Ninja/Mental Power 3
Water
Turn Cost 2
Combat/Support: 2/2, 1/1 injured
Effect: If this ninja is the Head Ninja and
completely defeated, you can select one of your
Standby Ninjas and discard it to negate the damage
to this ninja.
Meb is now back for another round of reviews, as we
look at a few varied and interesting cards this
week. Another bit of news is that as of a few days
ago, the spoiler list for Dream Legacy, the next
Naruto set, was put up on Bandai's official site. Go
check it out if you haven't already!
Today's card is one that has made the deck lists of
a fair few Mud (Water/Earth) mental decks as a nice
boon. Hisame's stats are somewhat mediocre, but she
is not meant to be in combat for those reasons. The
Mental Power 3 puts her right up there as a
contender for those mental decks and makes for an
awesome target for Sakura's Decision in the
Water/Wind hybrids. The effect reminds me of Gaara
[Auto Guard] when it comes to suicidal yet not
entirely beneficial effects. At least Gaara has some
beef behind him, but Hisame does not. Just leave her
in the back row and let her mental prowess help you
out.

Beastly Mage
Hisame
(n135)
Hello, Naruto fans. Beastly Mage here. Today's card
is Hisame (Smartest Ninja in the Hidden Rain
Village). Her effect doesn't really get to you. If
she's completely defeated you may discard a stand-by
Ninja so the damage is negated. Not really that
good. Her combat stats aren't that good either. But,
she's got 3 Mental Power, which makes her a must in
Mental decks, as well as Water/Water Hybrid decks.
She can beat match Sakura mentally and beat her
combat-wise. She's pretty good, IMO.

Hi Pojoers. Sorry about
friday's review, I totally reviewed the wrong Shino.
I guess that's what happens when you wake up at 4:30
to catch a 2 hour bus to work.
Ok, Hisame is a pretty good turn 2 ninja. She's got
good support, though only when healthy. Her effect
is, well, I don't use it. Kabuto [Withdrawal] is
better in a lot of ways, including better injured
stats and an ability that will bounce Appearance,
Caged Bird, Hokage Rocks, and other cards that see
play. But Hisame has 1 more Mental Power, which
means it's great when you're running Sakura's
Decision. If you're playing Mental Power, you might
want her over Kabuto, but I prefer the utility
Kabuto provides even if it means having 1 less
mental.
Hisame also works will in Kunoichi themed decks, I
guess, or for when you're playing the SR Kabuto in
threes, although you'd probably be running Demon
Bros for the End of the Demon fodder if you can
afford that many Supers.
In limited, she's a decent support ninja with great
mental power, since this is a Curse card you might
run into Suzume while drafting so Hisame is
definitely a good choice.
