Beastly Mage
Ukon
Good stats... wait... team requirement? That's
right! This guy can only be sent out to battle in
the same team as his brother Sakon. Upside is that
when you attack, you may move this Ninja into any
team (which must have his brother present) in any
position at the beginning of the battle phase. That
means you can make a Four-Man team at that moment if
possible. The only deck I see this guy work is in a
dedicated Sakon/Ukon deck. No where else, I'm
afraid.

Alucard of the Abyss
Well after about a week
long break, I am back to reviewing cards again. This
week we start out with the rather lackluster brother
of an already lackluster State 2 Ninja. This is also
the first review I'm gonna do that will be very
short (well short for my reviews anyways)
Today's card is Ukon [One Mind and Body]. Stats
first, like usual. They're decent enough for a turn
4. His only beneficial characteristic is Sound 4 and
it helps for some cards. Now to his effect. Plain
and simple, it's terrible. First he can only be sent
out to Battle in a team with Sakon. Then the next
part of his effect is that when you are the attacker
you can move him into any of your teams. Here's the
kicker, if you move him out of the same team as
Sakon, he can't be sent out to Battle. The only
thing he's got going for him is that, unlike the
other Sound 4 State 2, he doesn't have to have Power
of State 2 to come out on turn 4.
There is simply nothing beneficial about his effect
short of getting around Ino with it. I simply can't
think of anything good about this Ninja. I suppose
you can play Sakon Impenetrable Barrier or State 1
and then this Ninja on turn 4 but really there are
better options.
In limited he's not much better. If you can get a
Sakon I suppose he is good but you will most likely
have a hand cost for Sakon (unless your playing
limited with other sets in addition to BoD) and that
will make it even harder. Best skip over it.
The art is pretty cool looking. I like the demon
effect he's got going on.
Constructed: 1/5 (I can't rate it any lower)
Limited: 1/5 (ditto)
Art: 4/5 (not bad, pretty cool)
Tomorrow we get to one of the new Naruto from BoD.
Be sure to check it out.

Ukon [One Mind and Body]
A whole new week of COTD reviews, and I’m still not
getting paid one bit.
Even though Ukon can only be sent out with Sakon,
who’s complaining? Sakon becomes a 7/5 if he’s with
Ukon, who’s already a 5/3. Plus, Ukon can slide into
Sakon’s team. Orochimaru and the Second as back
ninjas with Sakon as the head Ninja, and Ukon
sliding in as another Head Ninja means an easy team
of 20. Without the other two, you can still make a
team of 12. With a possibility of two Head Ninjas,
Ukon and Sakon can make crazy power.
4/5 One more reason why Water is broken.

Next Time: Have you ever wondered how Naruto
“trains” with his Shadow Clones....? Or maybe it’s

Ukon. Crap on a stick. I
don't like this card, but for the sake of argument,
I'll try to fairly evaluate it. It is a turn 4 5/3,
1/3 ninja, so stats aren't bad. At the beginning of
the battle phase it can be placed into any of your
battling teams, possibly making a team of 4(or more
depending on which Sakon/other Sound 4 you run). Now
for the bad part, it can't be sent out to battle
unless it is in the same team as Sakon. Not that it
would be hard to play Sakon(any version) in a Sound
deck, but without Sakon, Ukon is useless. Also, the
State 2 Sakon relies on Ukon to get his effect, and
all that does is give Sakon +2/+2. That isn't bad,
and can make for a big team, but it relies on having
Ukon, and if Sakon is injured somehow, the effect is
null. Ukon does have a couple decent jutsus, if I
remember right, he can use Gatling Punch(or whatever
it is called), which is a good pump for a small
cost. Also, he has the parasite jutsu, which isn't
bad, but could be better. In all fairness, if you
play enough Sakons and have the room, Ukon might not
be bad, but it just seems too risky to me.
Constructed:2/5(Sound deck only)
Limited:1/5(There is only 1 Sakon in this set, and
it is a rare, so you don't run this unless you pull
Sakon and you have no other choice)

Welcome everyone!
Today we have a sound ninja, but has more
restrictions than any of the other; but he doesn't
have the four sound ninja characteristic (which I
believe he should). Ukon, brother of Sakon, is a
pretty nasty partner.
Used with Sakon State 2, he'll make a team of 10
with just the two of them. That's pretty awesome.
However, Ukon cannot be sent out to battle unless
with Sakon; huge restriction. BUT if played right,
can be put into your advantage for at least a while.
The only thing I see good about this card however,
is that you can switch him to a different team when
you're the attacker (while with Sakon in his team).
If Sakon dies, you have a useless ninja on the
field. Unless you're playing Orochimaru [Temporary
Vessel].
