Beastly Mage
Kimimaro
[The Most Powerful Pike]
"Early Settlement Kimimaro" is the name some are
giving this card and for good reason. Just like
Kakashi ES gives you BR's for victories, this guy
does the same thing and it could double if it's an
Outstanding Victory. Problem is that this effect is
not valid like ES's effect. Still, accelerating a
win is something good. In a booster draft, this guy
is Godly.

Kimimaro [The Most
Powerful Pike]
So with Series 8, we have the Sound Ninjas going
into their State 2 form. And this Kimimaro is
definitely beefed up. He's a turn 5 and 1 Hand Cost
1 Water Ninja with good stats for a turn 5. However,
this is only good when you have a dedicated Sound
Deck utilizing Power of State 2 Mission card. If you
don't have that card in play, he becomes a turn 6
and a 2 hand cost Kimimaro.
However, if you get him out, protect him well, and
he can reap some serious benefits. His effect is
similar to that of Kakashi[Early Settlement] except
for the fact that he isn't valid, but when he
becomes injured, you don't lose any battle rewards.
When you get a Victory you win 1 Battle Reward, when
you win an outstanding victory you win 2 Battle
Rewards. Your opponent can not chump block Kimimaro
or else there will be serious consequences from it.
Definitely a nice card, just not sure how
competitive they will all be since they rely on a
mission card.

If you've seen that card, I'm sure that ES will come
into mind. Kakashi Hatake [Early Settlement] got you
a free BR if he won a Battle, but losing will cause
your OPPONENT to get one! Well, Kimimaro TMPP is al
that and MORE! With the same stats, but much better
injured combat, you still get that battle reward.
However, if you get an OUTSTANDING victory, you get
TWO BR's! Even though he's a turn six ninja with two
hand costs if you don't have "The Power of State 2"
(Which, might I add, is ALSO a Super), the effect is
still SO broken!!!!

Kimimaro [The Most Powerful Pike]
Today we review one of the more popular cards of the
new set. With an effect and stats that in many ways
surpasses that of Kakashi [Early Settlement] it's
likely to find a place in any deck that plays cards
supporting the new sound 5 ninjas. It's major
downfall is the need for Power of State 2 to be on
the field in order to really make any significant
use of the card. Without that mission, Kimimaro
becomes the first turn 6 ninja with hand cost of 2
yet to be released. It's not valid and the fact that
he has no rank brings it's usefulness in the current
meta down a bit.
This card is best suited for constructed
tournaments.
There was plenty of water/sound support even before
the release of this new set. In a deck running at
least 2 Power of State 2 he should do fairly well.
The trick here will be keeping him healthy so his
effect will land. The meta seems to still be heavily
focused on causing damage to ninjas but luckily his
injured stats are on par with any turn 4 ninja in
the game.
Limited, it's probably not the best choice. If
you're not lucky enough to snag a Power of State 2
then you're going to be struggling to bring him to
the field.

Sorry for my short
absence, I had a busy weekend, and Spring semester
just started. Anywho, Kimimaro(The Most Powerful
Pike). One of Kimimaro's two State 2 versions, both
of which are powerhouses. This one, along with the
other and all of the Sound 4 state 2 forms get +1
hand and entrance cost if you don't have Power of
State 2 out. That part of his effect makes him a
turn 6 ninja with 2 hand cost without Power of State
2. However, that just might be worth it, as he has a
very good effect. When his team wins a victory you
win a battle reward, when his team wins and
outstanding victory you win 2 battle rewards! Along
with stats that are the same as The First Hokage,
and you have a great ninja on your hands. A few
negatives though, first of all the added entrance
and hand cost without Power of State 2, non-valid
effect, and no rank make him iffy without serious
consideration. Comparatively, this is the worse of
the two Kimimaro state 2s, but it is still a
powerhouse.
Constructed:3/5[4.5/5](lower score in anything
besides mono-water/Sound decks)
Limited:3.5/5(Hard to pull this and Power of State
2, along with a double hand-cost make him iffy, but
then again, good stats and a battle reward gaining
effect in limited is awesome.)

Kimimaro [The Most
Powerful Pike]
First, the bad. Entrance Cost 6 Hand Cost 2 or play
a lame SR mission (Power of State 2)
If you get him out though, he can wreck your
opponent.
One of his best qualities is that he doesn't need to
be the head ninja to use his effect - meaning that
Shikamaru won't negate him. And 3 support isn't
awful, although Kimimaro is at his best when he's in
front.
He also has quite a few jutsus at his disposal that
will make it difficult for your opponent to beat
this ninja's team.
I'm pretty torn between this guy and Kimimaro
[Assault From Behind]
I think, in the end, AFB is better, due to it's
synergy with Shikamaru [Formation] but this guy is a
killer.
In limited, he will annihilate your opponent, but
good luck ever getting him into play.

Hello and welcome to
Wednesday, February 6th's Naruto Card of the Day!
Today's card of the day is Kimimaro [The Most
Powerful Pike]. Many people call this Water's
Kakashi Hatake [Early Settlement]. However, there
are some goods and bads to this card.
Without "Power of State 2" on the field, his
entrance is on turn 6, and requires 2 hand cost.
That's a whopping 3 cards from your hand. He's also
not valid, and for him to be good you need field
control.
He's a 6/3, the average turn 5 or 6 stats. Injured
stats are 5/2, average as well. His effect is deadly
if you can pull it off. Your opponent may as well
not chump block this ninja's team, because they will
take Battle Rewards regardless.
Some people would rather use Kimimaro [Assault from
Behind] for more field control. In my opinion, AFB
is better.
