Beastly Mage
Zaku Abumi
This is a good choice for Sound decks. He's kind
of an Iruka [Scapegoat] for that kind of deck. He
reduces one damage given to the head Ninja (but only
from Jutsus and Ninja effects controlled by your
opponent), which has to be a Sound Ninja (in case
you're wondering, if there ever make a Sound/X
platoon, that platoon is not protected by this
effect). He's good for Sound decks, but not much in
others. I don't suggest using him in a deck with not
that many Sound Ninjas. He's a great choice for a
side-deck if your're running a Sound Deck too. Try
it and see.

N-US057 Zaku Abumi
2/1 1/0 on a turn one and a non-valid effect. lets
look at his effect, if his head ninja is a sound
ninja only, he can reduce the damage to that head
ninja by one from any source. unfortunately his
stats scream head ninja, yet his effect requires him
to be a back ninja. if his effect worked on any
head ninja he would be far more playable. His effect
means he is only useful in a sound deck only, but he
seems useless anywhere
constructed:4/5 in a sound deck, but 1/5 anywhere
else
limited:2/5 there are better 1 turns out there, but
if you pull him you might as well use him

Zaku Abumi(Absorption of the Damage). To be
honest, there haven't been any good Zakus until now,
and even this one is likely to be overlooked.
He's a turn 1 with meh stats, 2/1,1/0, and a
non-valid effect, as well as no growth.
However, the effect is somewhat decent. When
he's a back ninja with a Sound only head ninja, you
can reduce damage to that head ninja from a justu or
ninja effect by 1. First off, it doesn't stop
damage by showdown, which hurts. However,
there are currently many ninjas/jutsus being played
that do damage, so this isn't too bad. They'll
likely target him first to stop the effect, since he
isn't valid, but he only has 1 support, so team
power won't change much, and he'll have already
served his purpose in reducing/(indirectly)
redirecting damage meant for an important sound head
ninja. These could include any of the Sound 5
state 2, since they're effects are not valid.
He obviously only belongs in a Sound deck, but he
might be of some use there, although there might be
better choices. Try him out in a sound deck to
protect those Kimimaros, Jirobos, etc. that you have
as an important head ninja.
Constructed:3.5/5(sound deck only)
Limited:3/5(early turn ninja with okay stats.
Effect might help, since all of the sound five state
2 ninjas are in the same set, as well as a new Dosu.)
