Happy Halloween Eve!
Keeping with the turn 5 theme we’ve seen this week,
we bring you another Jonin, Asuma Sarutobi!
Like Might Guy, we have seen several incarnations of
this Ninja as of late, with none in particular
standing out until now. This Asuma is actually my
favorite, being as how you can harass your opponent
with him. Of course, he will see most play in a Mono
Earth or Earth/Wind deck, where Turn 5 ninja are
lacking. The fun part is, you can send him out alone
as a team by himself. Your opponent has two choices,
block him and waste a team, or let him score two
battle rewards. They block him, then you can just
move him over to another team. Try sending a team of
3 support ninja out, and then him on his own. It’s
the kind of fun shenanigans earth loves.

Asuma [Follow Up with Shiny Knuckles]
Fake-Out!!!!!
He fakes out the opponent by taking out one of their
teams by not giving it someone to fight. Then, he
powers up a team. Bad news? Turn 5 with a hand cost.
I prefer the nice turn 4 Asuma [OMFGLOLBBQ]. Oh
well. If you think about this Asuma's effect really
hard, you'll figure out that he's more useful than
he seems.
