Today we cover Naruto Uzumkai, for the Comrade from
set 13.
So he has all turn 3 naruto stats and
characteristics along with Oil (oh man! cuz we all
still use summoning jutsu right?)
He has a valid effect that makes him seem like solid
tech. When sent out to attack and opposed he gains
+x where X is the number of ninjas in the opposing
team. The obvious choice is for puppets because on
your turn the puppets are usually in the team so
gaining anywhere from 2-6 in addition to his 3 or 6
is pretty solid.
In addition, the effect can't be negated (and it's
vald XD)
There is one very big problem with naruto. His
timing is terrible :( only on the offense cards are
rarely all their cracked up to be (choji source is
really the only exception).
So all together not a bad card, but far from main
deck material....
Construction: 3 out of 5.

Naruto [Comrade]
This is the new Starter Naruto, and two are
supposedly included in the deck. Weird, right?
Anyway, nice stats as usual, but this time, he
pretty much becomes 5/0-8/0 or 6/0-9/0. Really
freaking insane, I know. This is great support for
Lightning, especially since Beatsticks are very
effective in this game.
The only problem with this Narutard is his busted
effect. Valid: This effect can't be negated. Which
means, you can't negated his effect which can't be
negated, but, his effect that can be negated does
absolutely nothing. Most useless effect in the game,
and hopefully we'll get a ruling on it, soon.
Naruto's still vulnerable to Jutsus, though, which
is still a problem since just 1 damage will kill him
while he's in his prime. But a 9/0 by T4 is just
awesome. Not broken, but solid support for
Lightning.

Fun Fact: Why are Fruit Rollups so hard to eat?
Stupid wrapper.

Naruto Uzumaki [For the Comrade]
For a STSR, this card is solid. A possible 6/0~9/0
on Turn 3 is pretty good, if you're just using this
Naruto for general purposes (i.e. You're just
starting the game). The timing prevents this card
from being retarded versus Puppet decks, which is a
little annoying (but not really). I really don't see
this card making any big waves on the competitive
scene (mostly because OC Naruto is still playable,
unfortunately), but it could happen. Overall, I this
is a solid card for people just starting the game or
those who just want to mess around with a new
Naruto. Wish I could say the same thing about the
STSR Sasuke though. Ugh.
Limited: 1/5 (Can't draft this.)
Constructed: 3/5 (Solid card.)
Artwork: I feel like I've seen this pose before on
another Naruto.

Well okay, so we already got the preview of both
cards in the Naruto Theme previews on Tuesday, but I
know I didn't get to give too much input on the
cards, but noticed what a lot of people had to
say,and I can agree with some of it. But let's take
a look.
Naruto Uzumaki - For The Comrade
Now this ninja, being the STSR, is fairly good for
BEING a STSR card.
In recent sets the only real good STSR cards we've
gotten have been Gaara from Set 9, and Sasuke (Coote)
from set 11.
I can see this Naruto getting play, even though
being just a 3/0 6/0, his usual stats, he has a very
interesting effect, that as many have pointed out,
to being very effective against puppets.
Knowing that this effect only comes out to Attack,
diminishes him a bit, but the +X/0 is deadly either
way on the attack.
Of course the second effect is suppose to be with
the FIRST effect, and I wouldn't be surprised to see
change on that ruling by Bandai when the card comes
out, but I'd be willing to get this Starter to get a
couple of this Naruto.
But it's still hard to decide whether to use THIS
Naruto or Whirlwind. He is at least on top of my
list of Naruto's to play or make playable, but I
don't think he'll need help with that.
Limited - (Only if the Mejin allows ST decks of
course) 4/5
Constructed - 3/5 It's hard to give him a 2, because
he is solid, and easy to get ahold of, but it's hard
to give
him more until for the ruling, and for two,
playtesting. But I could see him being played.
