Beastly Mage
Yoroi
Akado
Greetings, Naruto fans. Sorry for reviewing late.
I've had my hands full... >.<
Today's card is Yoroi, the Chakra-Stealing Sound
Ninja. When he attacks you pick one of your
opponent's Ninjas. During your turn, when that Ninja
goes out to block, you can discard up to two Chakras
from your opponent's Chakra Area. When that Ninja
(if it's still there) goes out to attack the next
turn, you can discard up to two more! Pretty sweet
if you ask me. Chakra control just got a boost from
this card. I limited, he could be a killer too. Try
it and see!

The other Sound Ninja sent to test Sasuke has had
playable forms in the past, and this one, IMO,
creeps the other one. While personally I like
guaranteed effects like the old one from Curse of
the San has, this one has an effect that can
potentially be much better (up to 4x), AND he has +1
Support (at the small cost of losing 1 injured
Combat... which will rarely matter as he'll be a
chumper). The Support pushes him over the edge.
Yoroi is simple; send him out, and choose the most
likely Ninja to block, whether it is the big team or
the chumper. Choose the big team and you can hose
four chakra, which sometimes is enough to completely
change a situation (I'm looking at you, Gaara
[Immense Power]). Character specific decks with one
guy to fuel the jutsus will likely have lots of
problems with Yoroi.
I can see him played in 2s in lots of decks, even
some that aren't Water. He also can be a great tech
option as a "replacement" for Neji [Detection by
Byakugan], but that's just a random thought.
Sideboard? Maybe.
Constructed: 4.6 out of 5.0 (Good stats with great
effect and sideboard application. What's not to
like?)
Limited: 4.5 out of 5.0 (3/2 T2s are some good I
hear.)

N-630 Yoroi Akado: Unique Talent
A retraction: On yesterday's card, I stated that
Misumi would be known for not beating Sasuke...I'm
pretty sure I was talking about today's card, Yoroi,
but to be fair Misumi did not beat Sasuke, he's just
not well known for it. Perhaps on my new Sasuke
review I will give a list of people who are famous
for it...N. Jolly is one...
Today's card is Yoroi Akado, one of the few villians
to be in both the main series and filler, and his
card today is pretty cool. His stats are now 3/2 0/1
which is pretty good for a T2 ninja. Just like
Misumi, he's only Sound and Male, so there's not a
lot there other than he can be Temptation of Power'd
out, which isn't going to happen to this guy.
His effect is actually pretty interesting as well as
being better for late game than early. When Yoroi is
sent out to battle, pick on of your opponent's
ninja. For this turn and the next, if the chose
ninja goes out to block, you can discard up to two
of their chakra...that's pretty nice! So if they
only have one team when you swing in, they have to
either block and lose chakra or let it go through,
still knowing that you can't send out next turn or
else you'll lose more. Two chakra is a lot at any
point in the game, making this probably the best
ninja for killing chakra consistently. He's really
good, but Water has so many good ninjas this set
it'll be hard for him to see play.
Constructed:3.75/5 Very good card

Yoroi Akado [Unique Talent]
What a beating. Swing with this guy, pick your
opponent's best ninja, and they'll be thinking twice
whether or not they want to have him engage you or
not. If that ninja leaves the Village, Yoroi
instantly burns 2 chakra (effectively cutting the
amount of jutsu your opponent can play that turn).
What's worse, this guy has no restrictions on who he
can target and his stats are fantastic. His 2
Support allows him to be used for the rest of the
game, without your overall teampower suffering.
Anyone who has used the first Yoroi should know
exactly what I mean.
Limited: 5/5 (Card is phenomenal here. Nice stats,
killer effect, and solid jutsu to play.)
Constructed: 4/5 (He's got a little bit of
competition, but I expect to see him around.)
