We received two Sais in
this set, one being a starter exclusive, and the
other being a rare. Today, we are reviewing the rare
version of Sai.
This version of Sai has Mastery, which separates it
from the other two Sais. However, to compensate for
that fact, he also has one less support than the
other two. Because of this, his stats come out to
being a 4/2, 2/2, which does not seem very good for
a turn 4 ninja.
To be honest, I don't like this card. For one thing,
dropping a 4/2 ninja on turn 4 is not a very strong
play, considering 4/2 is a stat easily reachable on
turn 3. Also, his effect, while decent, doesn't
protect against Jutsus, which generally the biggest
threats to a ninja.
The major reason why I don't like this card is that,
in a lightning deck, he has competition from a
vastly superior card, the Fourth Hokage (Younger
Days). The fourth hokage has: better stats, two much
better effects, Jonin, Oil CA, Mastery, and can use
Rasengan. Considering every other element has better
options on turn 4, this card would only see play in
a lightning deck anyway. However, the fourth hokage
is superior to this card in every way.
Constructed: 1.5/5 <---- Maybe has uses in a Sai-oriented
deck, but other then that, it is outclassed by the
Fourth Hokage. If you can't get the Fourth Hokage, I
would suggest the starter deck version over this
card, simply because it has three support.
Limited: 2/5 <---- A little bit better here, due to
his effect. However, he is still understated for his
turn.
