Beastly Mage
The Fifth
Kazekage
Today's card is a Chibi version of the Fifth
Kazekage (grown-up Gaara). This guy can protect the
Ninjas in his team from all of your opponent's
effects at the cost of one Wind Chakra.
Unfortunately, this can only be activated when he's
blocking. But, sometimes, you only need protection
when you're blocking. Problem is that this effect
can only be activated during the Exchange of Jutsu,
and not during the Mission Phase, when your opponent
usually activates the nasty effects before battling.
I have mixed feelings about this effect, but other
than that, he's pretty good for a Sand Deck, since
being a turn 5 he can use certain devastating Jutsus
(hint, hint).

N-465 The Fifth Kazekage: Guard with the Sand
...hey all, N. here, still recoving from the shock
that was reviewing Sasuke...he's a beast...
But that's not why we're here! It's Gaara's time to
shine!...kinda...I guess...anways, we've got a T5
Satoosa, which means he can use any rank jutsu in
the game, which is nice, but the only thing Wind has
that he cares about is KO Blow. His stats are a
respectable 6/2, 4/2, so he's not a bad Satoosa, and
he does have the Sand combat attribute, which is the
best in the game, except for maybe Genjutsu. Still,
he comes equipped to use all the old 9k gems from
before, and his own new move in Sand Coffin, which
is nice, if not expensive for a single target
jutsu. But enough about that, he has an effect that
some people like complaining about.
During the EOJ when you're the blocker, you can
discard one chakra to make your
team's ninjas (important for when reactive
jutsus start coming out)unaffected by your
opponent's cards. Sounds nice, but let's look at
the facts: if your opponent is attacking, they have
the upper hand, so you'll probably be responding.
So you use your card, and then for Gaara's effect to
matter, they'll have to try and removal-gate your
card with Vortex or Trigram. If they just negate it
with Fan or Sharingan Eye, you're still beat.
Basically, you're hoping they respond how you want,
which is always bad when you're planning on your
opponent doing anything. Honestly, 9k is still
around, go play it unless you're using that combo
deck to OTK with him, which is an awesome deck.
Constructed:1.5/5 There's so many better Gaara, run
them.
Limited:2.5/5 Better here, as he's big...and of
course my "First word I thought when I saw this
card" is "Grumpypants!"/5

The Fifth Kazekage [Guard with the Sand]
Turning your entire team into OCs is nothing to
sneeze at, and would honestly be a lot more
threatening if Wind had better generic jutsus. It
only kicks in on the block though, but this card
could easily turn the tides of battle provided
you've got a removal jutsu or two. Either way, this
card is a strong addition to the Turn 5 slot that,
oddly enough, doesn't see the level of play I
expected it to in general Wind decks. It may have
something to do with Sasori [Best Toy], who I've
seen run in decks where he clearly has no business
being in. Ah well, people will do what they want.

Welcome to a new
week and hope everyone's enjoying it :), Today's
card is the last chibi promo we'll be reviewing:
The Fifth Kazekage N-465
Ok, so what's new(well not technically) with this
super version of Gaara of the Funk o.O? Well he's
carrying satoosa ranking and all his average
characteristics and is Name:Gaara so you can run 3
of this one and 3 of another Gaara card. He's also
turn 5 and the reason I mention this is because he
can use a couple of very nice sand specific jutsus
with requirements turn 5 or higher which is a good
plus for him, he also has solid (H:6/2, I:4/2) for
turn 5. Now his effect...
So this valid effect lets you discard a wind
chakra during the exchange of jutsu while your
battling as a blocker to make his whole team
untouchable which is very nice on one hand. On the
other hand though limiting to only while blocking
means the opponent will not run into him unprepared
on purpose so you can't really get 100% use of his
effect unless the opponent is crazy lol. It's a very
nice effect however I prefer to search for jutsus
every time he's sent out to battle (Gaara[Inmense
Power]) then have a conditional effect that your
opponent basically has control upon. But he's good
either way and if used correctly he could be very
deadly.
A great ninja with an average effect.
Limited: 4/5 (Very good here if you got the wind)
Constructed: 3.5/5 (Good, but better out there)
