Beastly Mage
The Third
Kazekage
Greetings and salutations, Naruto fans. Sorry for
the absence. I've had my hands really full lately.
Today's card? The only puppet with a rank! The Third
Kazekage is meant for its own deck. This guy has
access to some really nasty jutsus, plus a weakening
effect for your opponent. At the end of the turn
your opponent battled the Third's team, the Ninjas
on opposing team get a -2/-2 coin each. That's a
nice effect, since it could make your opponent think
a little bit before attacking again. Thing is the
requirement to put this guy in play: You need Sasori
out! So, that makes it a bit of a no-no for limited.
In constructed, if you're lucky, you could run him
in a killer puppet deck. Remember that he doesn't
need Sasori to be out to go out to battle. Try it
and see.

Tuesday 6/30 - The Third Kazekage [Corrosion by Sand
Iron]
Great effect, though it isn't valid. Really good
stats too, at 6/4 4/4. Problem? You have to have
Sasori in play, so you have to give up your T5 and
T6 here, but hey, he can go out by himself, and
would be devastating to any team that blocks him.
That said, the problem is still a problem. I don't
like late game restrictive cards with good upside.
I'd need broken upside. It doesn't take the cake,
yet at least. Forcing a curve isn't the best thing
in the book.
Constructed: 2.1 out of 5.0 (Good, but too
restrictive.)
Limited: 1.0 out of 5.0 (HAH.)

N-543 The Third Kazekage
Ha! I tricked you, it's so The Third Kazekage!
Now here's a pretty good ninja, 6/4 4/4 that comes
out on turn 6, is a puppet and a Satoosa, and pretty
much is the best puppet in town. He does have one
little problem, and that's needing Sasori on board
to enter play, but he's put into play, so he
shouldn't burn your deployment for the turn with
him, which is pretty awesome, allowing you to hit
both 3rd and Tsunade to hit board the same turn,
making a massive team that wins the fight.
Third's effect is another big one, as he puts a
-2/-2 coin on all ninja battling him, which pretty
much cripples any ninja that isn't mental.. A hit
like that once will pretty much take any team out of
the fight...it's honestly a really good card, but
some that has the horrid requirement of needing
another ninja to hit board, and with the lack of
Sasori of the Red Sand, and the short print of
Sasori-The Best Toy, the best Sasori to run it with
would be the vanilla one, unless you're comboing LPC
with the new Chiyo, who's also short printed.
Rating:
Constructed:3.5/5 I really like this card, and if
you can get it going, it will win battles.
Limted:1/5 Try hitting Sasori and this...and my "No
way FR Limited is possible" rating is
IMPOSSIBLARG WHERE IS THE TACO BAR/5
Art: 3.5/5 He looks pretty sweet, and he's filled
with murder sand!

The 3rd Kazekage [Corrosion by Iron Sand]
This guy delivers a beating to your opponent if he's
not quickly dealt with. Tanking an opposing player's
team by a total of 6 points just for one defeat is
BRUTAL, especially when considering this Ninja,
alone, counts as 4~6 points. The big thing keeping
this Ninja from being as destructive as he could be
are his summoning restrictions; unless you have
Sasori in play, this card can do nothing for you.
May not seem like much, but Sasori is 3 cards out of
50, and not getting him can be pretty common. Once
Sasori is in play though, Ebizo can pick this guy up
to deliver a pretty nasty beating. The fact that
this card is a SR is highway robbery too.

The 3rd Kazekage N-543
So we have the great fallen Third Kazekage, what's
with these great ninja that keep dieing gosh...
Anyways, he's gotten great fuss over the reason that
he's a super rare puppet with crazy stats and a
nasty effect if it shoots off even once. Personally
I don't think he's all that good but he's a great
1-of and is definitely not something to laugh at if
your facing it. He's a puppet with the "Satoosa"
rank, belongs to the Sand(so he actually has a
village as well, nice) is turn 6 and carries awesome
stats of (H:6/4, I:4/4). He also carries his own
distinctive Combat Attribute "Sand Iron" and he
carries his own personal deadly jutsus as well as
the ability to use all non-ninja specific jutsus due
to his rank. So far he's a dream puppet and crazy
nice for any puppet deck. Let's look at his
effect...
His first effect puts a -2/-2 coin on EVERY ninja
that battled against him. Wow as if puppets didn't
OV enough, you get this as well. This effect can be
used to scare your opponent into chumping or giving
rewards even if you don't have a jutsu in your hand
which is incredible. His second effect is what ruins
such an awesome card, he can only be put in play if
Sasori is there... Ok, a little bad I guess, you
need the best puppet master (turn 5) in play to
shoot this guy. That's not such a hard feat to pull,
however this suffered a little more with the
limiting of Long Awaited Reinforcements and Sasori
of the Red Sand to 1. He does have tutoring with "A
Treasure Puppet J-477" which makes him an even
better excuse to be a 1-of run. To use that jutsu
with Sasori and put him in play disregarding the
turn marker and the hand cost. Very nice, if you
know how to play him you might get a game win.
However, his first effect wont work if he somehow he
doesn't end the turn in play and neither of his
effects are valid so keep him healthy or else it's a
no show.
An awesome puppet, but shouldn't be ran in more than
1's. Just use the jutsu to fish him out with Sasori
when he does get in play. ;)
Limited: 1/5 (Yea... you need Sasori to play him)
Constructed: 3.5/5 (Great if you know how to play
him)
