Today's card, I think, is something of a last-ditch
effort for those running squads. It's a turn 8 card
with 3 hand cost. Yes, 3!
In limited, if you are running squads and you draft
this card, it could help. But in constructed I'm not
sure if this card will help out that much.
Sorry for the short review, but I just don't think
this card can cut the mustard at the moment.

Another one of these missions…What is this, the
third one of its kind that puts a squad ninja in
play? The whole turn 8 3 hand cost thing just
doesn’t do it for me. Besides that, we have yet to
see any squads that you want to play right out of
the reinforcement deck that are worth dropping 4
cards from your hand for. If you do for whatever
reason decide to run this card, you’d best not
forget about your opponents Hayate.
Limited: 2/5 There are squads in the set at least…
Constructed: 1/5 A turn 8 mission eating up deck
space with a 3 hand cost? No thanks.

4/2 - Thursday - Beginning of the New Chronicle -
Mission - Earth/Wind
Um so this card has the exact same text as Eternal
Rivalry, except it is Earth/Wind instead of
Lightning/Fire. Go figure.
I don't think any of the squads so far are worth 4
cards in your hand. Not to mention that also means
you can't play those said Ninjas, where most of the
squads has at least one of the Ninjas very playable,
though you would be able to play an off element guy.
Not to mention you need to be at turn 8, not be
dead, be willing to give up 4 cards, and still be
alive down 4 cards in hand.
Not a plan.
Until there's some uber-amazing squad that's going
to knock my socks off that worth taking the risk of
having a dead card for 8 turns, and soaking up 4
cards for a Ninja who can easily be removed, I'm
going to pass.
Constructed: 1.2 out of 5.0 (Just read above.)
Limited: 1.0 out of 5.0 (No.)

Beginning of the New Chronicle is the Earth/Wind
varient of Eternal Rivalry (Fire/Lightning). It
isn't too much of an amazing card. Turn 8 and a M A
S S I V E hand cost of 3 make this card VERY hard to
play. Even in a Hyuga deck, which will have an
overflowing hand at any point in the game (at least,
if you're using it right), this mission is costly.
You just get to put in any Squad for free. Not so
amazing when it's the most expensive card in the
game.

Art: I thought the 4th Hokage was the only one cool
enough to have to quote.
Fun Fact: CCG is pronounced "Ka ka ga".

Beginning of the New Chronicle
We kick off Day 4 of Earth week here at Pojo with
the Squad aid, Beginning of the New Chronicle. Much
like its' Fire/Water counterpart previewed in Shonen
Jump, this card allows you to put in play a Squad
card without a need for the actual ninjas, but is
comes at a very steep cost. Turn 8 is pretty late,
considering most games would have ended or would be
finishing up by then. And with a Hand Cost of 3 (4
cards from your hand in total), the Squad you put in
play has to literally win you the game outright. And
when I say win outright, I mean play this and drop
Kakashi/Pakkun when your opponent only has 3 cards
left in their Deck (or something to that extent).
You can give this card a swing yourself, but I
personally wouldn't waste valuable mission space on
it.
Constructed - 1 out of 5 (I like the art.. That is
all.)
Limited - 2 out of 5
Artwork - It looks like a poster for an action
movie. <3

Beginning Of The New Chronicle
Well here is the card that's the opposite of the
card "Eternal Rivalry" that was shown on the Naruto
boards earlier this week.
Now as many will see when they first see this card
is "3 hand cost? Turn 8? Why would I want to use
this?"
Well let's take a look. The effect, that allows you
to put out a Squad card from
your Squad deck for free! Yes you can't have any of
those Squad required cards out in play, but this
card, just like Eternal Rivalry lets you play those
"one of" copies of a certain Squad cards in your
Squad deck late game. This card in my opinion has
much more potential as more and more Squad cards
come out, but even now, with cards such as Kakashi/Pakkun,
Hinata/Neji, and the infamous one that was shared on
the Naruto Podcast (Sorry, not going to spoil it, if
you don't know,go take a listen and be surprised.
;D), this card could definitely see a "one of" in my
opinion, fighting for space in most decks for draw
of course, but will be wanted if the player does in
fact play with Squads.
But I'll look forward with testing this out with
some of the more popular Squads when the set comes
out.
Limited - 2.5-3/5 Depends on if you get Squads WITH
the card in draft, otherwise useless.
Constructed - 3/5 Will get a higher ranking as more
Squads come out.
Side note - Wasn't this card previewed with Eternal
Rivalry with a turn 7 Entrance and a 2 hand? What
happened? ?_?
