Beastly Mage

Naruto Uzumaki

Ever wonder if the Nine Tails would someday be a playable card? Well, now we have this guy. This version of everyone's favorite Knuckleheaded Ninja lets you negate the Nine Tails effect. It's good, but only it a dedicated Nine Tails deck (which I don't see as being so playable). Still, not bad.

Ratings:

Limited: 2/5
Constructed: 2/5

Card: Naruto [Drawing Out the Hidden Power]

Hey everyone! Today we will be reviewing a new Naruto from Foretold Prophecy, Naruto [Drawing Out the Hidden Power].

The stats are normal turn 3 Naruto stats, with the normal characteristics too. The effect, however, is completely useless IMO. Essentially, the two versions of the Nine-Tailed Fox (Revenge and Rebirth and the new one in Foretold Prophecy) get their effect texts negated while naruto is in play. First off, the first version of the Nine-Tails is a turn 9. With most games ending by turn 6-7, this card's effect will not be very useful for most of the game.

Secondly, even if you are using the new version of the Nine-Tails, which is a turn 7, it does not justify playing this card. If this Naruto is killed at any time after playing the Nine-Tails, this essentially also kills the fox, due to his second effect. So you have to protect both Naruto and the Nine-Tails.

Constructed: 1/5 <---- Plenty of Narutos that are much much better than this card. Obviously belongs in a Nine-Tails oriented deck, where it then gets a 2/5 from me, but Nine-Tails oriented decks are generally casual anyway.

Limited: 1.5/5 <---- If you can pull both, then it can win you the game at times. That gives it a small +.5 boost.
