N-653 Sasuke Uchiha [Severing the Bond]
Hello all, sorry it's been a while since I've
gotten back here, but T. Giving hit me hard, so I'm
sorry that I was gone for so long. But there's not
time to feel sorry, there's cards to be reviewed!
Today's card is one that stirred up some
excitement a while back, but let's take a look at
the most sexy (as voted by women) ninja formerly of
the Leaf? Sexiest, you may ask? That would be Neji
(as voted by N. Jolly):
T4 HC0 Water
Sound/Rogue Ninja/Male/Sharingan Eye/Growth/Mastery
6/0 2/0 CA Weapon/Genjutsu
N-653 Rarity: Rare
We're pretty familiar with Sasuke's stats at this
point, but something new on him is the Mastery
keyword, as well as having lost two support while
healthy. Mastery is a very good keyword (I'd still
rather take ambush over it, but I won't spit on a
free ability) which will allow you to recycle a
jutsu a turn, which can be very powerful. With
Growth, you're still able to play him on top of your
T0 Sasuke, which continues to make him very playable
in decks that want to run both. Now onto his effect:
[Severing the Bond]
During the Exchange of Jutsu, if this Ninja was
sent out to Attack during this turn, you can make 1
Ninja Battling against this Ninja's Team with
printed Entrance cost of 2 or less a Stand-By Ninja.
Valid: This Ninja is considered to have "Jonin".
Wow, this just flew by the Sasuke Fire is running
right now, and honestly, giving Sasuke Jonin does a
lot for him in both Water and Fire. I have to state
that this line of text is a big part of what I like
about him. The access to all the great Jonin level
jutsu that Fire has: Sense of Fear, Trigram, New
Fireball jutsu (it could be good...maybe...it with
mastery is pretty good...) and Water: Vortex, Water
Dragon, Shark Bomb...just a very solid list, and he
still has another effect.
Sasuke can, on attack only, remove a ninja of T2
or lower from the team, like a one sided Goal
effect, but only on wimps. This may matter less and
less as the game goes on, but there is a pretty
large amount of support ninjas of T2 or lower that
see play, such as Temari, Ino, and Shion, so even
later in the match up, you'll still be getting some
use out of that effect.
This Sasuke as a whole is a big step up from For
the Aim, and I'd recommend it to any player who
doesn't have a specific SR Sasuke in mind for their
deck's build. Him being a rare is just awesome!
Construct'd: 4/5 Great card, great revision of
him.
Limit'd: 4/5 Even in a draft, he's strong and he'll
be pulling out all of your opponent's low turn
support from team, draft him.
Art('d): Sasuke in a bit of an action pose. I'd like
to see him more aggressive, much like Kakashi in his
cards, but at least he's not just sitting down, all
shirtless and sexy.../5
