N-704 Tekka Uchiha [Leaf Police Force]
Man, it's sure been a while since I've been back!
Sorry for the delay on my reviews, a lot of weird
things have been happening (comp was missing for the
past few days too...) Sad news though, as my Naruto
binders as well as my main deck (a fire deck, in
case you're curious) was stolen, so I was kind of
wondering if I was going to keep even doing the
COTDs. But I enjoy doing them, and it's fun, so
expect me back as well as a new N.'s End sometime
this week. If you'd like to send your support, just
hit me up at the same email address I use for
everything else, and again, good to be back!
Wow, sure a long intro. Well, today's card is yet
another guy Itachi kill'd, Tekka Uchiha. Now let's
look at the stats of this old boy, shall we?
T3 HC0 Fire
Leaf/Male/Sharingan Eye
4/2 1/1 CA: Ninjutsu
Rarity: Starter Exclusive
His combat isn't anything new, as we've had Hayate
with stats like that for a while now, and his CA
doesn't really matter (should have been flame)
unless we get some ninjutsu support. As for his key
words, Sharingan Eye is pretty nice as it gives
another user for Visual Jutsu/Sharingan Eye as well
as Coils Dragon Flame, which is getting to be a
pretty good card with all the good non-Jonin ninjas
seeing play out there. But as per always, we should
check out his ability now:
[Leaf Police Force]
While you have "The Symbol of the Proud Clan"
Mission card in play, your opponent cannot put in
play any Ninja cards except by deploying them.
This is yet another piece of the "Truchiha" lockdown
based off of Proud Clan and the other supporters.
The first thing I'd like to mention about this card
is it's not Valid, which really hurts it in my book.
An effect like this should always be active,
especially considering that it's situational to
what's already on the field. A card like this has to
be consider'd against the mission it's tie'd to, and
I don't much care for Symbol. If it was a T1 card,
I'd like it, but at T3, it's hard to get the most
use out of it. And while it can be search'd with yet
another card from this set, searching an HC1 mission
and then playing it burns 4 cards out of your hand,
which is a pretty huge amount for Fire to lose.
I don't want to just say "In the right deck" for
this card, as "the right deck" still isn't strong
enough to support itself compare'd to Mono Fire,
which is a bit sad. If you can get out the lock,
it's good, but the deck isn't strong enough to
protect itself to that point reliably yet.
Constructed: 2.5/5 It's decent for theme, but still
a hard deck to pull off
Limited: X/5 Starter card

Tekka Uchiha [Leaf Police Force]
From what I gather, a number of Fire players out
there were disappointed by the first round (here's
hoping) of Uchiha in this set. His reliance on
Symbol of the Proud Cloud wouldn't be too big a deal
to me personally, but Fire isn't a control element
and this effect seems like something they added
without giving it much thought. For starters, the
effect isn't valid when it clearly should have been,
and giving them the random control effects seems
awkward. As for his actual effect, there's going to
be a number of nasty Squads running amuk, which this
card just kicks in the pants, just like St. Simon. I
honestly expected the Uchiha police to mill or pump
(two things Uchiha support cards have done in the
past). As a Fire player myself, I don't see a huge
reason to dedicate deckspace to Symbol and this
card. Luckily, it's a starter exclusive, so there's
no fear of pulling this card in a pack.
Another day, another card and oh boy folks! AN
UCHIHA! AWWWW SNAP!!! O-O
Well, I'm not gonna say too much about what cards he
obviously goes well with, so he already gets some
points for having Uchiha in the name, but the stats
and effect feel so mediocre. There are better stats
for T3 and the effect requires a mission to be in
play, of which is also kinda mediocre in its own
way. Only deployments can only be so good, but due
to some recently previewed cards on Bandai, this
card has just lost most of my interest. It's only
saving grace is Uchiha. Everything else is just one
big...meh.
Limited: 3/5 *guessing that Symbol will be in the
structure deck*
Constructed: 2/5
