Beastly Mage
Secret
Mission
Today's card is a new mission from the upcoming set.
This one is sure to please Mill fans out there. The
effect is simple: discard the same number of cards
from your opponent's deck as there's in your
opponent's hand. So, let's say your opponent has
five cards. With this mission, you can discard five
cards from your opponent's deck. Simple enough, but
remember that it's the exact number and not "up
to"..

M-522 Secret Mission
Man, could barely even find the number for this
mission, it's not on the card I was link'd to! But I
did it, because I am N. "Thorough" Jolly!
Today's card continues Mill Week and we have a
mission for you today, my little boys and (girls?
Who am I kidding? I know a male dominate'd hobby
when I see one. Hell, if you're a girl who plays,
send me a deck. I still need some more suggestions
for N.'s End and I'd like something craft'd by hands
more delicate than my own. Did teach some girl how
to play the other day, so that's good. That's me, N.
"Helpful to Girls" Jolly hard at work making the
world a safer place!) and the card we have is one by
the name of Secret Mission. Let's check out it's
stats, shall we?
T3 HC1 Fire
Secret Mission
Effect: Discard X number of cards from the top of
your opponent's Deck. X= the number of cards in your
opponent's hand.
Now this is a decent card, but it really needs to be
play'd early to get it to work as well as it can. As
we've all seen in later matches, late game hand size
is anywhere from 1-4, which is probably smaller than
their hand size at T3-4, which is generally 4-6. So
it's a good card for mill, it's just not as optimal
as it could be. I do like it though, but is it as
good as all the other mill cards that trigger
activate? I'm not so sure...
Constructed: 2.5/5 Not the best, but still not
worthless. If you're looking for an extra mill card,
I'd run this over Berserk at least
Limited: X/5 Mill looks good this set!
Art: At first I couldn't tell who's eyes those were,
so I just assume'd they were mine.../5

Secret Mission
The fact that this card depends on your opponent
having good hand advantage in order to be good
itself doesn't really sit well with me. When I play,
I want my opponent to have as few cards in their
hand as possible, simply because the less cards in
their hand, the less tools they have to use against
me. The fact that this is a Turn 3 mission, and not
something earlier (like say, Turn 1) doesn't help
either. At least that early, you're less likely to
get in trouble for your opponent having a big hand.

Mayur V.
Hey everyone, it's Mayur again. We have another card
from Foretold Prophecy for this review. Its the Fire
Mission, Secret Mission.
Secret Mission is a turn 3 card that mills X cards
from the top of your opponent's deck, where X is
your opponent's hand size. Obviously, this can't be
thrown into just about any deck, and needs to be fit
into a mill-themed deck. How much stronger is mill
with this card? Well IMO, this card does not help it
all that much. The reason I say that is, by turn 3,
I would expect your opponent's hand to be down to
4-5 cards. As the game progresses, that number
generally gets smaller and smaller. This just means
that the number of cards you can mill off the top of
their deck decreases as the game goes on. Also, it
lacks the important text "up to X number of cards."
This means that if their deck is smaller than their
hand size, this card does nothing. Its already hard
to justify putting mission's into your deck that
don't draw/search/do something ridiculous in a 50
card environment. I just can't recommend a card that
can mill a max of 6 cards off the top of an
opponent's deck under the best conditions, and
sometimes will mill a grand total of 0.
Constructed: 1.5/5 <---- Has a tiny bit of
potential, but IMO mill decks should not consider
this card a worthy addition.
Limited: 3/5 <---- It has a bit more potential hear,
as the deck size is smaller, and people generally
can't find multiples of too many good cards in a
draft, so if you mill their best cards, you should
gain a huge advantage.
