Beastly Mage
Yamato
Welcome to an exclusive card, Naruto Fans. Today's
card is a new version of Yamato. It has two very
simple, yet very good, effects. First off, the
non-valid one: your opponent can't use mission
cards...
Yeah, this one could be Rouge-Listed...
Thing is that it's not during a certain turn, but
during ANY turn. OUCH for your opponent!
Second one, valid one, he can use the FIrst's Jutsus.
No big surprise there. Still a good card for any
format. Try it and see!

N-677 Yamato [Cautiousness]
Hello again, my little silly men (and women? Naw,
not starting that again)! Today is a joyous day, as
it is my birthday! All hail me, the Pumpkin King!
With those formalities out of the way, today's card
is a new Yamato, and his effect is pretty nice,
seeing as it doesn't deal with OC or TBM, which is
always a plus in the book of N. But as per always,
let's check out his stats, shall we?
T5 HC1 Earth
Leaf/Male/Mental Power: 2
5/4 3/2 CA: Tree
He's basically the same old Yamato we've known and
love'd(?) form the beginning, so really the only
thing worth checking on him is his effect, which
we'll get to now!:
[Cautiousness]
Your opponent cannot play any Mission cards.
Valid: Hey look, I can use DFC! Let's not just
errata DFC to have it's requirements be Tree CA,
let's just give me this little line of text so that
I can use it! It only makes me vulnerable to having
my effect negate'd, which is something I shouldn't
have to fear for my jutsu line up! Whee, I hate my
life as a stupid First Hokage substitute card! No
one would run me if it wasn't for this ability! I'm
awesome! I love this line of text I always have to
include!
Yeah, pretty weird wording for an ability, but
Bandai is cool like that. Now for his effect, it's
kind of hard to see it working for too long, as
Yamato's greatest goal in life is to get squad'd, so
he's not around long enough to stop your opponent
from mission'ing that long. But when he is out, he
stops a lot of good cards from hitting the field,
which can really swing things in your favor. If
you're just running him as a late turn for Earth
(rather than for DFC :(, which I hate) he'll really
end up saving you a lot, especially with his large
lineup of tree jutsu.
Overall, he's a nice improvement over the subpar
Yamato we start'd the game with, and I feel like
he's just going to get better. I haven't seen the
Promo one yet, but even still, this is a pretty
solid card.
Constructed: 3.5/5 Way better than our current one
Limited: X/5 No idea...

Yamato [Cautiousness]
It's a well-known fact that Missions are the source
of most deck's draw and search effects. Without
them, you can't really build chakra, draw extra
cards, or search for those key ninja in your Deck.
To put it simply, you deck gets slow. Really slow.
Now, this guy is inferior to his secret rare
incarnate for obvious reasons, but this guy is
definitely solid for what he does and adds yet
another good Yamato for players to choose from.
