N-616 Naruto Uzumaki & Yamato [Team Work]
Generally, I'd start this review with some unrelated
tid bit about something odd and with no relation to
Naruto or really anything else, but not today. On
that note...I'll fight you, whale!
Today's card is one of the most demanded of the set,
and for good reason too. As per always, let's check
out this squad's stats: Leaf/Male/Genin/Anbu/Mental
Power: 2/Clone Status/Squad T5 HC0 5/4, 8/4. Those
are some pretty nice stats for a T5 ninja, and he
only gets better when injured, which makes him even
better. Clone status gives him access to pretty much
any Naruto jutsu, which probably won't be useful for
him anyways. His Genin rank is a bit of a hinderance,
as he can be affected by Sasuke [CTS], and having
Anbu won't really help him unless you're running
Head Hunter, so his rank doesn't really matter that
much. Two mental is nice, but that's not the reason
this cards is worth so much right now.
When this ninja is put into play, you can search for
up to 2 Permanent Mission cards with an "Earth"
symbol in your deck and put them(it) into play.
Then, shuffle you deck.
Valid: This ninja can become the user of Jutsu cards
with "Requirements: The First Hokage".
I for one don't see why this card isn't being used
as a win condition more...I think that effect is
just perfect to pull an Attack from the Blind Spots
and Pressure and just swing for game (or very nearly
game with that board setup), but most people tend to
use it to play two BBQ or Transmitter. But I guess
the versatility of this card is what makes it great.
It plays to the situation, and that's what great
cards do. I can't really say a lot without
overstating things, so I'll just admit that this
card deserves it's lofty status as chase rare of EA.
Constructed: 4.25/5 It's a good card, but can be
hard to get out with an early game Naruto and is
still vunerable to Sasuke [CTS]
Limted: 2/5 Not a great selection of missions here,
so it's not as good except for stats
Art: Some cards you can just tell they're in love
on...this is not one of them.../5

Meet the card that makes Earth ridiculous. Earth
missions are notorious for boasting some of the most
crippling effects in the game with cards like Caged
Bird and Attack from the Blind Spots, as well as the
newly released Pressure being at the top of the
list. This thing lets you throw 2 of them in play
for free, which can very realistically win you the
game on that very turn. Getting around Attack from
the Blind Spots by itself is quite a task, but
combine it with Pressure and you can pretty much
keep all your opponent's Ninja out of battle while
you swing for Battle Rewards unopposed. And if by
some stroak of luck your opponent is allowed to
block you, his second effect allows him to rip cards
like the First Hokage's Deep Forest Creation on top
of Four Pillar Prison to keep them out of battle
anyway. TO put it simply, when this thing comes
down, it's usually game over that turn (or at least
within the next turn).
Limited: 2/5
Constructed: 4/5

Naruto Uzumaki & Yamato~Team Work
Another day, another card and today I want to take a
moment for us to remember the tragedies that befell
on all of us as a nation 8 years ago in New York and
the people who sacrificed so much and more to
fulfill their duties under such dire and extreme
conditions. Take this day to thank every police
officer, firefighter, soldier, or any public
official who put their lives on the line for all of
us each and every day.
Now, we move on to today's card...
Pretty much the first card ever previewed, courtesy
of the Naruto CCG Podcast, for Emerging Alliance, we
all had a big hunch that the set was gonna blow the
meta away and this was the face card that signaled
it all and for good reason. The idea of bringing in
two Permanent Missions for free is kinda crazy, but
awesome all the same. Very, very nice stats for a
turn 5 and no hand cost, also having a wide
selection of some of the hardest hitting jutsus both
Earth and Lighting, let alone the game, has to
offer.
On a sad note, I confess when reviewing a Squad I am
compelled to add in the ease/difficulty of putting
said Squad in play. That being said, it makes me
wish Yamato was more playable *reference to my
review last week of him.* However, I will say that's
the worst part about this card, that it requires
such a mediocre ninja, at the moment. Granted that
problem can be solved with a more appropriate deck,
but people will be wanting to use this card in every
Earth deck and it's understandable. The combos this
card can provide is nuts! From extra crazy draw
power to unblockable teams, this Squad is capable of
crafty stuff. I look forward to see how people will
utilize this beast.
Limited: 2/5 If you actually get lucky enough to get
both Naruto and Yamato
Constructed: 4.5/5 Will more than likely become 5/5
when another Yamato is released
