Beastly Mage
Anbu (The
Foundation)
This card is a KILLER! First off, great stats at
turn 3, plus Ambush. He's good for Earth Decks, as
well as Anbu Rush. When he hits the field, he'll
nuke both discard piles, and then comes the "valid"
part: when a card is sent to the discard pile, it's
removed from play instead. So, no Emina or anything
like that when this guy's on the field. He's also
got good stats, and the Anbu/Foundation
Characteristics (which helps with the new Anbu Mill
decks popping up). Try it and see!

N. has a bone to pick with a certain COTDer...Master
Wang said that Ino was our favorite Navel Exposing
Kunoichi, and that is a lie! Mine has been, and
always will be, Karin, and I will fight him to prove
this! You hear that, Wang! I'm calling you out!
Wow, that really got away from me...Today's card is
more Anbu support, and honestly, pretty good Earth
support as a whole. As per always, let's take a look
at it's stats: Leaf, The Foundation, Male, Anbu,
Ambush, Mental Power: 1, 4/3 0/2 on T3. I love those
stats, and honestly, I think they should have been
Sai's stats (Not being Earth, I wouldn't have cared,
but he's cool in Lightning) but being a T3 with
awesome stats like that and Ambush is incredible
enough to run just for his Combat and Support. I
really think Earth needed a ninja like this for a
long time, and I'm glad to see them getting it. It's
one of my fave cards from the set, but let's check
it's ability first.
Vaild: When this ninja comes into play, remove all
cards from each players discard pile from the game.
Valid: While this ninja is on board, all cards that
would be discared are now removed from play. In
Earth, that effect isn't really hurting you at all,
as your discard pile doesn't really do a lot, unless
you're running Zetsu (Which I wish was still
played), you're not going to notice it. But for your
opponent, it could be devastating. Lightning loses
Emina as well as SCJ and Naruto COP being more
dangerous cards to run. Fire can't run Copy Ninjutsu
(...oh no!), and Wind can't abuse Sasori TBT or
Gaara FOS, two very good cards in my opinion. Water
can't get back things with the new Kabuto, but he's
really not an issue right now.
So his effect isn't the biggest draw, but Earth
having a great stat'd ambush ninja on a turn that it
really doesn't have a lot going for it at the time
as well as being a good part of any Anbu/Foundation
deck makes this card a solid pull.
Constructed:4/5 One of my faves
Limited:4/5 Ambush is love, love the ambush

Anbu [The Will of the Foundation]
This card is liked a beefed up version of Yugioh's
Banisher of the Radiance. Like Sai, when he comes
into play, Anbu removes every card in boths player's
Discard Pile from play, but this guy takes the RFG
aspect to another level by removing any additional
cards as well. This guy will undoubtedly see a lot
less play than Sai though, simply because Sai has
one thing this guy doesn't: awesome Squad cards.
Curiously, I had this guy pegged as being more
powerful than Sai, so I'd have thought the two
would've switched stats and Turn Cost.

Anbu (The Formation)~Willingness of the Foundation
Another day, another card and today's is not as
confusing as yesterday's in the least.
This card, flat out, is Earth's version of
Haku~Camouflage, if not slightly better. There's
nothing wrong with running this card in any deck so
long as you don't have recycling cards. While the
effect is very good-looking, it's stats are great as
well. Having Haku-stats w/ better injured value plus
Ambush is very nice.
Much like Ino~Pressing, this is just a solid card
with a very nice effect that almost any deck can
use. I do advise you keep him out of Anbu decks
however for the obvious fact of removing your own
discard pile from play, but that's just a side note.
