Beastly Mage

Might Guy

This version of Guy-Sensei is great for the Taijutsu/Surge Deck. With 6/3 he's probably the first version of Guy with printed support. His effect, a Valid one, allows your Taijutsu Ninjas to be Surged as many times as possible during the turn. Remember that Surge only works once per turn. Note that this effect doesn't give your Taijutsu Ninjas "Surge", but only helps those with that Characteristic. He's also got Growth, which is good too. It's a pretty good effect for that type of deck. Let's just see how much support this build will receive later on.

Might Guy n969

Guy's growing gates govern: glistening, glowing, gallant.

I haven't done too much testing with this Guy, or with the Taijutsu deck for that matter, where I feel he fits. To me, this guy goes into that deck, in that spot for the instance that you can't draw into combo cards, in which case he combines with Burst of Power to draw as many cards as you have Taijutsu ninjas in your hand, if you also have Rock Lee from Set 18 out. In addition, he can Growth off of another Might Guy to be a 7/4 on Turn 5 that doesn't even count as your Ninja for the turn.

Limited: 1.5/5 He's big, but he isn't good for much else, unless your pool fits him well, which may be practically impossible.

Unlimited (Const'd): 2.5/5 Despite his uses, there are definitely better Might Guy out there.

Block: 2/5 The above reasoning, but also the fact that Taijutsu decks are less prevalent in Block.

For those who might care, this has been the end of my first full week of reviews. For any critiquing, I am on the Naruto (Bandai) {www.bandaicg.com/naruto} and the Pojo.biz {www.pojo.biz} message forums, as well as the 2EZ forums {2ezforums.com}, as The_Sixth_Prong. Any suggestions or questions in terms of my paradigm in conjuction with this game, its cards, or with my view of a certain card (or cards) would be much appreciated, or if you just want to chat about whatever, hit me up on either of those forums.

Might guy

This card was a let down.  The power to Surge as many times as you want in a turn seems like fun but the likelihood of making good use of the effect is doubtful.  It's turn 5 but by then the player will have already Surged their ninjas.  [Dynamic Entrance] is over all better and pays off too.

"your "taijutsu" ninjas can be surged any number of times in a turn"

The effect only works on Taijutsu ninjas so it's focused into a small archtype.
Not many taijutsu ninjas carry surge in the first place.  So.. It's not worth running over [Dynamic Entrance]

Block: 1/5
-unlikely to take advantage of the effect at late game

Unlimited: 1/5
-not worth the trouble
