Beastly Mage
Lightning Blade Single Slash
Today's Jutsu, one of Kakashi's techniques (which
can be used by anyone turn 4 or more) you can give
any Ninja (regardless of if that Ninja is battling
the User or not) and give it -4/-4. Pretty simple
for two Fire (or three Colorless). Now, if the
User's team wins any sort of Victory this turn, you
get a Battle Reward. This is pretty good,
particularly since it doesn't have a Symbol-specific
bonus. Though, the bonus only comes if you score a
Victory. Pretty good in Fire. Try it and see!

A Lightning Blade not requiring Kakashi? Blasphemy.
Can't complain too much though, as it make this card
more usable this way. For the low cost of two fire
chakra or the high cost of three colorless, you can
make any ninja on the battlefield -4/-4. If the
user's team wins any Victory, you get a battle
reward, which is nice. While I'm not a big fan of
pumps (or in this case, an anti-pump), this card can
do the job when needed. -4/-4 can turn your victory
into an OV or give you the winning edge in the
showdown. If it had removed ninjas from the tean
ibstead, I would like it infinitely better, but as
it is right now, its effect is too weak for my
liking, especially in unlimited where you have cards
like Trigrams. The only pump/anti-pump card that I
like for Fire is the Set 18 starter Lightning Blade.
-10/-10 FTW.
When the first Tournament Pack as released, I
thought this card was pretty great for a jutsu. What
I didn't think to realize was the fact that there
are just better jutsu to play at that point in the
game. By the time that this most recent Tournament
Pack was release, I lost all hope in the card being
"the best." That said, I really like the flavor of
the card, but I think between the requirements and
the effects, it's not as good as it should have
been.
Constructed: 1/5 This card is just not a playable
jutsu in Unlimited.
Limited: 3/5 It isn't hard to rush mid-to-late game
with this card.
Block: 2/5 I still hope this card could see definite
play, but I just don't think so.
