Beastly Mage
Reaper Death Seal
Today's card has the same name of a Jutsu. A bit odd
that a mission would be called "Reaper Death Seal".
This Fire/Lightning permanent mission allows you to
draw two cards at the start of your turn. This is
additional to the one card you draw at the draw
phase. This could speed up your game if played
right, but you have to take into consideration that
when you draw those two cards your opponent wins a
Battle Reward. You'd think that you could just use
an effect to remove this card from your Village, but
the second part of the effect states that this card
can't be removed and isn't affected by any effects.
That means it can't be negated or removed at any
time. Thing is that, normally, Battle Reward decks
are Earth decks. These decks rely on flipping your
opponent's Battle Rewards, or recovering them
somehow. This card wouldn't fit into that unless you
run either Fire or Lighting to make a splash. Maybe
it's a bit too early to know if this card will have
some combo in the future. Unless you have a mad
strategy, I recommend staying away from this card.

Reaper Death Seal M-704:
When I see the effect of this card, I think back to
The One Who Lives Within M-381 from Set 12, in that
you dig through significant portions of your deck up
in order to draw cards. The difference is, unlike
TOWLW, this card doesn't happen until at least Turn
4 and doesn't give you a choice in getting the
effect. That said, it is great for decks to dig for
their outs around Turn 4 and Turn 5, like Ninja
Dogs, Leaf Academy, and other decks of the sort.
Constructed - 2.5/5
(There are better alternatives to giving up
advantage for card draw in Unlimited, like TOWLW)
Limited - 2/5
(In a 30-card deck, you would mill yourself and give
your opponent BR advantage way too fast)
Block - 4/5
(I feel like there are better cards to play, but
this thing definitely has its spot in mid-speed
decks)
