N-720 Tsunade (Childhood) [SHOWN SIGNS OF THE
LEGENDS]
Hello again, it's time for us to start doing
COTDs on the new cards of this set. Also, the
MechieSomay channel is up, we have a match up, and I
plan on putting up some more as soon as we get our
new set in, as well as talking to a few locals about
their opinion on the direction the game is heading.
I'd also love to skype chat with a few of my fellow
reviews and get them on to hear their thoughts as
well.
Today's card is Tsunade (Childhood), and it's
probably the most lack luster of the three childhood
sannins. While I initially liked this card, I've
been kind of down on it after seeing some of the
other cards this set. But let's check out this
card's stats, shall we:
T3 HC1 Wind/Earth
Leaf l Female l Genin l Medical l Mental Power: 2 l
Name: Tsunade
6/1 1/0 CA: Medicine
Set 16: Rare
While this card has a lot of keywords, it's not
as good as a Sakura in this slot, even with it's
pumped physical strength. I honestly don't think
Tsunade should take such a nose dive in power when
Jiraiya only loses one combat while injured. It
really makes it hard to use her, for fear of her
being injured in combat and just tanking a team's
power. I'd have more to say about her other
keywords, but they're things we've already seen, and
I'd rather be getting out any of my T6 Tsunade's
over this one. The only great benefit you'll get
from this card is to fire off your Tsunade Jutsus a
bit earlier, but I don't think that's a good enough
reason to play this, unlike with her friend Oro.
Still, let's check out it's effect, shall we:
[SHOWN SIGNS OF THE LEGENDS]
When this Ninja's team wins a Victory or Outstanding
Victory, you can randomly select up to 2 cards in
your opponent's Reinforcement Deck and remove
them(it) from game.
When I first saw this effect, I thought it was
pretty cool, but all this does is make you run three
of a card in your Reinforcement Deck or get
hammered. That's not really all that helpful, and
unlike the new Temari that came out this set, it
doesn't stop them from playing the squads that you
removed if they have enough one spare. While it is
an interesting idea, I think Temari just did it
better.
Overall, this card is a step down from playing
any of the later game Tsunades, especially by
speeding them into play with Shi/Ton. It also
doesn't impact the board in the same way that
Jiraiya and Oro do, which is sad, as even with the
Younger Tsunade before this, her effect lacked the
punch of her two male counterparts. It's kind of sad
to see this happen again, but it's not a big issue
since there's a large amount of playable Tsunade's
that aren't this. It's not a horrible card, but it's
really not that great.
Limited: 3.75/5 Just being a huge beat stick here
does it.
Constructed:2/5 Not horrible, but not worth the deck
space.]
Block: 2/5 No difference here...
Art: Never noticed she had brown eyes before...must
have been too busy staring at her chest. It's
amazing what you can see when you actually look,
isn't it guys?/5
