Beastly Mage

Naruto Uzumaki (Childhood)

Today's card is one of the new Childhood cards. Just so you know: You can have up to 3 "Childhood" Ninjas, and up to 3 of their grown up versions.

This Kid version of Naruto is pretty good. Turn 0, not so strong Healthy but not that bad Injured. No Clone Status, but that makes sense. The effect is a good one. When he's killed via showdown, rather than go to the Discard Pile, he goes to your Chakra Area. When that happens, you have to option of moving the top card in your deck to your Chakra Area. This effect is just great for Lightning Decks, which seem to depend on having a lot of Chakra.

In Limited, he could be useful. In Constructed, he could prove his worth. Try it and see!

6/14/10 N-94 Naruto Uzumaki (Childhood) [High Potential]
==========================================

Today's card is one of the few new "Childhood" ninjas we got in Will of Fire. This version of Naruto has been a point of minor controversy due to his lack of "Clone Status" which prevents him from using Rasengan and a few of its variants. Personally, I don't mind it, and it doesn't hurt him terribly and does not make him unplayable as some people say. He's still good since he won't take up your Naruto slot in your deck so you can run 2-3 of him and then 3 of the turn three Naruto's to grow over him. Of course, growth may not be desirable if you have Naruto [Reliance] (since his effect does not trigger due to growth), but you can kill him off beforehand and use his effect for the extra chakra. Other than that, he has the standard early game Naruto stats, albeit with one combat now, and no interesting characteristics. I would recommend running this ninja if you're running a a few Naruto's just for the potential growth, and his effect is not half bad as well.

Limited: 5/5 T0 common is the best you can get
Constructed: 3/5 Good, but he has some competition
Block: 3.25/5 Same as above, but with less competition
