Skeleton Key

Today's card brings us an exchange strategy. This mission allows you to look at your opponent's Battle Rewards, pick the ones you like, and move them to your hand. That can be really good at times, since sometimes what you need is there. Problem is (for some) that you have to exchange those rewards you picked out with cards from your hand. So, if I pick out three rewards, I have to move three from my hand to the BR Area. But, there's a few combos I can think of with this card. The Shonen Jump promo Naruto, for example, can allow you to move one BR to your hand at random. Then there's a couple of missions that, for no hand cost (since they are Lightning and Fire), allow you to look at the BR's, and deploy (not put in play) a Ninja that's in there. This is one cool card for Earth, I must say.

M-597 Skeleton Key

Trigrams will leave the format when the shift occurs...I'm starting to wonder how many subliminal messages I can get into my reviews. Let's start (I am your king!) easy, something kind of simple (I am your king!), something cool.

Today's card is Skeleton Key, and this is kind of a weird one. It's not really good, as it doesn't pull you advantage and well...let's check out it's stats, shall we:

Skeleton Key:
T:3 HC:1 Earth
Effect: Look at all the cards in your opponent's Battle Reward area. Move any number of them to your hand. In that case, move the same amount of cards from your hand to your opponent's Battle Reward area face down.

It really doesn't help you unless you're losing, and it doesn't create advantage. I just don't like it. With no hand cost, it'd be decent. With a hand cost, it's super sucky.

Limited: 1/5 No
Constructed: 1/5 Still no
Block: 1/5
Art: Not nearly as good as Trigrams/5

Today's card is an interesting card for Earth; it allows you to exchange cards in your hands with ones in your opponent's Battle Rewards. While it is a decent effect, there are just too many setbacks for this card. The first one is that it relies on your opponent to have a good amount of BRs so you can find something good in there. The second is that Earth has a lot of staple Missions so you may not have room for this.

This card still has some redeeming features, however. It can combo well with Exposing the Hideout; just put your powerhouse in your opponent's BRs then pop him out in the EoJ. The only downside is if Exposing gets negated. Then you're screwed since you lost your ninja.

Overall, this card is decent but Earth also has better stuff. If you really like the effect however, you can just run Momiji for a similar effect but it lasts the whole game instead.

Limited: 1.5/5 Might be useful
Constructed: 2/5 Has uses, but there are better options.
Block: 2.25/5 More viable since there are less Earth Missions now but I still like Momiji over this.
