Beastly Mage
Advisor of the Sand
Today's card is one that has seen a lot of action in
Surge Decks. First off, he's got two valid effects.
This makes him pretty good, particularly when you
take into consideration what the effects are. The
first one allows you to draw a card whenever you
Surge. That means that 1 Surge = 1 Draw. This
includes himself (since he does have Surge). The
second one gives your in-play Sand and Leaf Ninjas
+1 Entrance cost. Remember that Surge Decks also
rely on increasing the Entrance Cost of your own
in-play Ninjas. He's got good Support stats for a
turn-2, plus pretty high Mental. In limited he could
be useful if only for the Support. In constructed he
can be useful. Trust me on this one, I've seen him
work.

N-936 Advisor of the Sand [For The Village]
================================
Today we have a card that I thought wouldn't get a
reprint. For better or worse, we have a new Advisor.
Let's take a look at him.
For starters, he is now a T2 ninja rather than T4.
He has high healthy support which is nice, and Surge
which is good for helping out his first effect. Each
time you surge a ninja, you draw a card. This is a
mandatory effect, so if you Surge multiple times in
one turn, you can draw a few extra cards. His second
effect is more tech, if anything else.
There is not much to say about this card. Not good,
but not bad.
Limited: 2.5/5 Stats are nice, I guess
