Beastly Mage
Uhei
Today's card is an exclusive that's sure to please
those running Ninja Dogs. Uhei does not have the
Tracking part in the effect text, but this pooch
does have an effect that assists Tracking Effects.
When Uhei's team beats in any way a Tracked Ninja's
team, your opponent has to discard one card from
his/her hand. When you see Uhei's Element Symbols,
you get an idea on the possibilities. This dog is
Fire/Earth, and both decks can use Tracking effects
perfectly. The effect is also Valid, which is just
perfect, adding to the support stats and the turn-0
spot. I'm not too sure about this dog in Limited,
though Uhei will probably see a lot of action in
Constructed. Try it and see!

Today's card is our first set 19 exclusive preview,
Uhei, one of Kakashi's eight ninja dogs. It seems
like Bandai always gives us the dogs, but I'm not
complaining, since this puppy has a pretty nice
effect in my opinion. Uhei has the obvious "Leaf |
Animal | Ninja Dog" characteristics with nothing
special and the usual "Fang" combat attribute that
every ninja dog has. He has an entrance cost of
zero, but you probably will be playing him on turn
one since he is a support ninja. Finally, he's
Fire/Earth; while Fire is important for his
deck-type, he is useful for certain Earth decks
which a run a plethora of Tracking ninjas.
Now that we have the boring stuff out of the way
let's talk about his effect. Whenever he wins any
sort of Victory, your opponent discards a card from
their hand. Making your opponent lose the hand
advantage is always good (except against
Infernity/no-hand Water, obviously), but I would
have liked it better if the card was discarded
randomly. Letting your opponent choose the card
really weakens the effect, but it is still good in
my opinion. Unfortunately, Uhei himself does not
have Tracking, which dampers the usefulness of his
effect triggering, but there are plenty of other
cards that can easily start tracking a ninja (*looks
at Biscuit*). A very decent card for puppies.
Limited: N/A There aren't any "Tracking" ninjas that
have been revealed in this set, of the time of this
writing.
