Beastly Mage
The Great Naruto
Bridge
Today's card is
another exclusive
from the upcoming
set. This is one
card that's sure to
please many. First
things first: it
negates Counter
Missions. Some may
ask how this is
possible, since this
is a regular
Mission. It's simple
really: it doesn't
count towards your
one mission per turn
limit. So, let's say
you play your
mission, your
opponent plays a
counter mission. You
can negate it with
this one. Thing is
that it doesn't have
to be a Counter. It
can also be any card
in play. You can
negate an in-play
card (doesn't
specify what kind).
Also, there's a
little bonus that'll
help those playing
Lightning and Water
(both elements on
this card). When you
play this card, you
have to move the top
card on your deck to
your Chakra Area.
That would help
getting Ambush
Ninjas out, or even
setting up for a big
Jutsu. It's a pretty
nice card. You could
be seeing some play
soon.

10/08/10 M-713 The Great Naruto Bridge
==============================
Today's exclusive preview is a somewhat situational
card that would make nice side-board material. It
negates the effect text of an in-play card or a
counter mission being played, so it is nice defense
against Fire decks that run a boatload of
Interruptions. This card might be able to negate a
card's effect permanently, since the card does not
says "Negate the target's effect" rather than
"Negate the effect text during this turn", but I
will treat it as the latter. The card's second
effect is in there to give it a little more kick,
netting you a total of three chakra after this card
resolves.
The downside of this card, however, is that Water
and Lightning already have some good counter-mission
defenses, particularly, The Next Target and
Konohamaru Ninja Squad. Kigiri can negate effects of
your opponent's in-play ninjas and clients as well.
If the mission could target any card being
put-in-play, I'd like it a lot better since would
shut-down card's like Sasuke Uchiha [Eyes of the
Hawk].
Over all, this card is nice side-deck material. It
can be used for counter-defense and give you a
temporary opening by shutting down a pesky permanent
mission or ninja's effect for the turn.
