Beastly Mage

6-Pain (Deva Path) & Itachi Uchiha

"Eyes of Pain and Pride" is an appropriate name for this card, which features two of the Akatsuki's top members. We have here a Void/Fire Squad card with an Entrance Cost of 7. Now, we all know how Void decks manipulate the Turn Marker by increasing yours and decreasing that of your Opponent. So, for you turn 7 will probably be a piece of cake. Now, note that one of its Elements is Void. We'll get to that a bit later.

This Squad has Jonin and Satoosa, Sharingan and Rinnegan, Mastery, and Akatsuki. Those are some strong Characteristics. The effect is what gets you. In order to put this Squad in play you don't really need both Sacrifice Material Ninjas. You can put it in play with either Deva Path or Itachi only. If you remember the Akatsuki starters that came out some time ago, then you'll remember that one Starter came with a Fire/Void Itachi and a Void-only Deva Path. Void's Hand Cost can be paid with any color. See where I'm going here? This is probably one of the few Squads that you can run in pretty much any deck if built right!

Now, its effect is one that benefits Turn Marker Control decks. If your Turn Marker is odd you get to draw a card. If it's even, then you move your Opponent's Turn Marker down by 1. In most decks, this is a slow benefit. In a Void Deck that focuses on controlling the Turn Markers, this card is pure gold. Try it and see!
