Beastly Mage
Ino Yamanaka
Today's card is the Ninja Dog deck's worst
nightmare. This version of Ino stops any player from
putting in play more than one Ninja per turn. So,
Ninja Dog decks are stopped by this. Note that it
says "put in play", so doing Growth on more than one
Ninja per turn would be stopped as well. It stops
your opponent from swarming, though it affects you
as well. Just for that she makes good sideboard
material against Dogs. But, she also has an effect
that would make her splashable. She negates the
effect of the opposing Head Ninjas. It's not just
the Head Ninja battling her team, but ALL of your
opponent's Head Ninjas (including the single ones).
This is a pretty good effect (and it's Valid). She
stops the swarms and abusive Head Ninjas, so she's
good all around. Try it and see!
The next card in Female Week is the other playful
ninja, Ino. Although she shares the same effect name
as yesterday's Hinata, she does not have any special
synergy with her like the [True Allies] set has.
This iteration of Ino has her standard turn two
stats and characteristic, albeit one more Mental
Power. Her first effect is a nice anti-rush effect
that is useful for Puppy hate, and it can be useful
in decks that don't use many squads or
reinforcements. Her second effect is a simple
negation effect that can be quite troublesome to
your opponent in some situations. While it can be
nearly devastating to certain ninjas, it may
absolutely nothing to other ninjas.
This Ino will probably be side-board material
against puppies along with Gamaken. She may see play
in main decks that won't be hampered down terribly
by her first effect.
