Today's card is one pretty good Jutsu. For just one
Water, you get to discard two of your Opponent's
Charkas and move up to two cards from your Discard
Pile to your own Chakra Area. That's pretty decent,
especially when you consider that this Jutsu has no
actual requirement. It does, however, pack an Expert
bonus: if Jirobo is the user, and your opponent's
got 3 or less Chakra after this Jutsu's effect is
resolved you get to draw one card. That's a nice
bonus IMO. This card could even work in Limited if
you have the space. Try it and see!

Today's second preview is one of Jirobo's jutsus; an
earth style jutsu, but it requires water chakra for
obvious game mechanics. Without the Expert effect,
this card is somewhat like a less potent Threat of
the Tailed Beasts; kill two of your opponent's
chakra and gain one extra. This can sabotage your
opponent's ambush ninjas as well as prevent them
from building up chakra for future jutsus.
Additionally, you can use it to get rid of any
annoying effects your opponent might have going from
them in their chakra area such as Shelter from the
Shifting Sands, Training in The Moonlight, etc. You
can then bring back some of your ambush ninjas that
might have been discarded. In a hand-discard deck,
this card can tech you back those discarded ambush
ninjas. It's also so worded so that you can return
no cards from your discard to your chakra so you can
play it with Kirin without worry.
If you are running the new Jirobo, this jutsu will
most likely net you another card to your hand which
will further increase your advantage over your
opponent. Although this card doesn't necessarily
give you a huge winning advantage over your
opponent, it is a tech a card which provides some
decent support. Personally, I like this card and I
will try to find some space for it in my decks.

I was organizing my cards this weekend and came
across the original version of this card from Quest
for Power. It was awful. It required Jirobo, costed
earth AND water, and did pretty much nothing. I'm
glad they took the card and beefed it up a bit.
Anyone can use this spiffy little chakra melter to
burn chakra and gain some of their own. Use it with
the Jirobo from today and Sakon from yesterday and
you should get to draw a card off of it.
Unfortunately, I really just think water has better
options. Water's jutsu lineup is pretty well set,
and this card isn't going to be a jutsu that wins a
chain. In all honesty, I'd rather use Deformable
Body from TP3. At least that makes a ninja 0
support. (And only costs 1 generic chakra.) Then
again, I've been proven wrong before when more of
the set is shown, so I'll keep my hopes up.
Limited: 2/5 (I'm sure you can pull better jutsu out
of your packs.)
Unlimited: 1/5 (This shouldn't even be thought
of in unlimited.)
Block: 1.5/5 (Much better options available for
water.)
