Player's tips- Deck building, the nuts and bolts

Welcome, I'm here to help some new players (or maybe those who need refreshing) about building your very own Naruto deck. Like any card game, deck building is a good part in playing the game. A good deck can make up for a person's lack of skill, and vise versa, and those with both are ones who are more likely to win. So consider this step one in being the best.

Anyone one who plays this game would know that there could only be 40 cards in the deck and 10 on the side. A maximum of 25 ninjas can be in a deck, including the sideboard. Only three copies of a card can be in a deck. As for ninjas, you can have, for example, 3 copies of 2 different Sasukes in the deck and side deck, but only 3 Sasuke in total can be in the maindeck at one time. All in all, you can check all that out in the rulebook.

After know that, the next thing you need to do is figure out what kind of deck you want to make. This is the hard part, at least to me. When Coils of the Snake was released, more different kinds of deck can be played. To decide, you would need to look through cards and come up with tactics and combos. Most deck now has at most two different elements, which each focus on their strong point. Some only use one element to make Chakra flow easier. With two element, it is not too hard to have the chakra you need to play jutsu or to discard; anymore would be hard to do anything.

Theme may not the most important thing when building a deck. While one deck can focus on taijutsu, another can have no theme but to simply win. Them decks are usually fun deck, but there are many people who would differ.

Now for numbers. Most decks I have encounter have 23 ninja, +/- one or two. 2-6 mission cards, and the rest, jutsu cards. Every deck need at least 7 turn 0/1 ninjas. The rest is up to the deck builder. Choose card wisely, and remember that each card should be useful. There should be no cards that are useless when you draw it.

Well there you have it. When you're done picking your cards, sleeve them, shuffle them, and do some test draws. You may find some flaws in the deck, but you cant really improve it until you play with it. I'm sure there are others who have their way in building decks. In fact I would like to know them, so I can try it. That’s all for now, and until next time.
