The Turn Curve
9-11-06
N. Jolly

It's N. again, here to explain the turn curve. Again, you may ask what the turn curve is. Well, anyone familiar to Magic: The Gathering knows about the Mana Curve. And the Turn Curve is the Naruto equivalent.

The turn curve is a good way to find out why your deck isn't lasting late into the game, or why you just can't build up your forces in the beginning. But to understand the turn curve of your deck, it helps to actually see the curve. To do this, get a piece of notebook paper and a pencil. Now make a simple graph, about nine lines up and down. Now number them 1-9 both vertically and horizontally.

Now look at your deck and separate your ninjas by turn, counting how many of each you have. (EX, 8-turn zero, 3-turn one, 4-turn two....) After doing that, go the graph and mark 8-0 on the graph to show that you have eight turn one ninjas. Then you'd mark 3-1 to show the three turn one ninja. Continue to do this for all six turns. After you do that, connect the dots to show how your deck goes into each phase of the game.

While it may sound like a hassle, doing this will show you how your deck transitions into each turn so you understand why you're drawing what you're drawing. Do this enough and soon you won't be able to make a deck without this little tool.

Later,

N. Jolly
