Classic NES Series
Now you're playing with portable power.
Nintendo releases the first of hopefully
many series of NES games for the Game Boy
Advance.
June 04, 2004 - The day has finally arrived.
Nintendo of America has begun to delve back
into its Nintendo Entertainment System
history and released a series of games and
hardware that brings us all back to where it
all began. It's called the Classic NES
Series.
Kicking off the series is the Classic NES
Limited Edition Game Boy Advance SP system
that's modeled after the NES console and
control pad. This system is currently on
shelves for $99.99, the same price as the
standard Game Boy Advance SP system.
Nintendo has also shipped eight games in the
Classic NES Series, each game exactly as it
was when they hit shelves during the 1980s.

TCG Ban List: Don't Play That Card!
Wizards of the Coast has just released an
updated Banned/Restricted List for the Star
Wars Trading Card Game which includes the
banning of Holoprojection Chamber and Kessel
System Location cards while restricting the
usage of the Falcon's Needs, Lull in the
Fighting, Peace on Naboo is and Lost in the
Asteroids Battle Cards. Players may not use
banned cards in a DCI-sanctioned constructed
tournament and can use only one copy of a
restricted card in a DCI-sanctioned
constructed tournament.
According to the Star Wars R&D team at
Wizards of the Coast, the Holoprojection
Chamber is banned because it makes the
"Mission" deck too easy. It is the center of
the Mission-fueled engines that lead to
large first turn build disparities. Similar
to Holoprojection Chamber, the Location
Kessel System card can easily lead to a huge
first turn build disparity that is unhealthy
for the game.

Game designer Larry Harris of Hamilton says
his father Lawrence Sr.'s wartime service
inspired his creation of Axis & Allies. The
World War II-themed board game is perhaps
the most popular military strategy game of
its type. Now a special D-day edition of
Axis & Allies has been released by Hasbro
subsidiary Wizards of the Coast to coincide
with the 60th anniversary of the
commemorative D-day anniversary edition.

Epilepsy alert over Nintendo Jun 7 2004
Professor Graham Harding, former director of
the Neurosciences Research Institute at
Aston University and a world expert on
photosensitive epilepsy, has discovered four
Nintendo computer games which contain
flashing repetitive light sequences which
could induce seizures.
Seizures occur by the bright flashes and
dramatic patterns found in video games
causing abnormal signals to be sent to the
brain from the retina in the eye.
"A small percentage of the population has a
pre-existing neurological tendency to have
seizures triggered by exposure to flashing
lights or patterns," the statement said.
"Nintendo began including a warning about
seizures with its video game products in the
UK in 1993.
