Ghost

Playstation2 and Xbox versions will offer
distinctly different experiences…
Rumours last week suggested that Ghost Recon
2 would offer a distinctly different
experience on the Playstation 2 compared to
the Xbox version, as Ubisoft today released
an official announcement on the subject.
Whilst few specifics are known as of yet, we
do know that the Playstation2 version is
currently in development at Pandora Tomorrow
creators, Ubisoft’s Shanghai Studio’s, and
will be built right from the start using the
Unreal engine – marking the first title in
the Tom Clancy franchise to be created
exclusively for the Playstation2. The game
will also include the rare appearance of
real-time physics in a PS2 title, courtesy

Pokémon adds features, retains its
characters
Still not dead.
That isn't a great marketing slogan, but
it's really the bottom line when it comes to
Pokémon. It's now six years since the
cartoon, game and trading-card phenomenon
jumped from Japan to the United States, and
Nintendo is reporting an uptick in interest,
not a decline.
``Pokémon Ruby'' and ``Pokémon Sapphire,''
the first Pokémon titles for Game Boy
Advance, were huge hits last year. No wonder
then that Nintendo is crowing about buyers
reserving 150,000 copies of the next
releases, ``Pokémon FireRed'' and ``Pokémon
LeafGreen,'' in the first half of August.
The company says that pre-sell rate is 200
percent ahead of the pace created by Ruby
and Sapphire.

Pokemon
The First Movie
If you don't already know what Pokemon is,
you're probably one of those otaku who has
shielded themselves from all signs of
Western civilization in favor of spending
their days locked in a dark room basking in
the glow of a cathode ray tube wondering
what it would be like to have a torrid
affair with a Sailor Scout. So I'll forego
the introductory ground that has already
been plowed into oblivion by the likes of
Newsweek, Time, and countless other
mainstream publications.
Of course most parents will fall asleep and
most youth will love it to the point of
tears. However, what about those of us
somewhere in between... Those who can watch
Card Captor Sakura and Dragonball Z without
feeling a little too grown up for the
subject matter? Well, it's not GOOD, but
it's not bad either.

Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen
It seems like every time Nintendo launches a
new adventure in the Pokemon series it's one
huge event. Makes sense, though, considering
the Pokemon franchise is one of, if not the
most successful videogame brands of all
time. Each Pokemon game, at least ones in
the handheld RPG genre, are pretty much
guaranteed million-sellers, and the upcoming
FireRed and LeafGreen have already sold that
many in preorders alone.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3: Hands-On
How many times can you say "kamehameha"?
After two generations of Dragon Ball
fighting games that had plenty of consumer
demand but definite room for improvement,
you might guess that Atari would buckle down
and churn out one for the fans -- a Dragon
Ball Z fighting game to end all Dragon Ball
Z fighting games. Atari's been recently
proud to showcase its latest attempt at
doing justice to the epic battles betwixt
Goku, Freeza, and the rest of the DBZ cast
too, with Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3. But after
spending some time with the game hands-on at
Game Stars Live in London, I've come away
unconvinced.
