Pojo's Gen Con News Greetings! This is it
– the day we’ve all been waiting for! The Gen Con team is
packing up and heading to
Changes to the Guest of Honor
Line-Up
We are
pleased to announce the addition of Mary McDonnell and
Tricia Helfer to our guest of honor line-up. Mary McDonnell,
President Roslin on ‘Battlestar Galactica’, will be signing
on Thursday and Friday. Tricia Helfer, Number 6 on
‘Battlestar Galactica’, will be signing on Saturday and
Sunday. Please join us in welcoming them as guests of
honor. Unfortunately, Summer Glau will be unable to attend Gen Con Indy due to contractual obligations for ‘Serenity.’ Likewise Ernie Hudson has had to cut back his signing schedule from four full days to just Saturday and Sunday due to new contractual obligations for his reoccurring role on ‘Stargate.’ While we regret that Summer Glau won’t be able to make it and that we will only have Ernie Hudson for two days, we wish both of them the best of luck and much success in their endeavors.
Movie Screenings We’ve put together not one, but two, count them, two very special movie screenings for Gen Con Indy this year. On Saturday night starting at 8 pm there will be two back to back screenings of the new Dungeons & Dragons movie, Wrath of the Dragon God and then at 10 pm there will be a premiere screening of Gamers 2: Dorkness Rising by Dead Gentleman Productions.
Free wireless service for Gen
Con Attendees! Yes, you
read it right – free wireless. We have partnered with the
fine folks at eWireless.com to provide our exhibitors and
attendees with free wireless internet at various hotspots
throughout downtown Please note: this service will not be available inside the convention center – only at eWireless hotspots. The convention center will have wireless service available in the food court for a nominal fee.
Shuttle Service from Airport
Hotels As promised, we’ve arranged shuttle service to the convention center from the following hotels: Comfort Inn, Sleep Inn, Wingate Inn, Holiday Inn Select – Airport, Adam’s Mark, and Quality Inn. Shuttle service will be available Thursday through Sunday from 6:15 am until 12 midnight. The route schedule will be available on-site and posted before we leave at www.gencon.com.

Gamer Olympics!
Ever wondered if you could
accomplish some of the feats your Dungeon Master lays in
front of your role-playing character? Now is your chance to
find out! Test your strength by swinging a sword as hard and
as accurately as possible at your target. Test your
accuracy by throwing a javelin at your enemies. Test your
combat prowess against a warrior of Edhellen Armoury. Test
your dexterity when crossing the “Chasm of Doom” and running
through heavily trapped “Passage of Death.” The final test
will be one of grace and a keen eye: The Archery
Range. Once your final score is determined, you will be
awarded a prize and experience points for your hard work.
Thurs and Fri at 10 am, 1 pm and 4 pm and Sat and Sun at 10
am and 1 pm. Come check it out!

Liquidation Event Make sure to stop by the Gift Shop and pick up some of the great new merchandise we have for Gen Con Indy. We will be clearing out “Classic Gen Con Gear” from previous shows at ridiculous prices. All Classic Gen Con Gear must go!

Badges are non-refundable and/or non-transferable on site. Upper
Deck Events (UDE):
On Wednesday August 17th, from 5pm – 9pm you may purchase event tickets for Upper Deck Entertainment at the Event Registration kiosk. After this date and time the Upper Deck Entertainment will be “locked out” of the Gen Con registration system. No attendees will be allowed to purchase UDE event ticket’s onsite through the Gen Con registration system instead they may be purchased inside Hall F at the Upper Deck Entertainment event registration desk.
Pro-Circuit players: You may register Thursday, August 18th from 4pm – 7pm and Friday, August 19th from 7am – 9am at the Pro-Circuit registration kiosk near the main entrance next to the Generic Ticket kiosk. There will be a staff member from Upper Deck Entertainment to answer any questions you may have regarding the tournament.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Players: You may register Saturday, August 20th from 8am – 1pm and Sunday, August 21st from 8am – 11am at the Yu-Gi-Oh! registration kiosk near the main entrance next to the Generic Ticket kiosk. There will be a staff member from Upper Deck Entertainment to answer any questions you may have regarding the events. Yu-Gi-Oh! players can purchase a one-day limited access player badge for $20. Parents or legal guardian accompanying a Yu-Gi-Oh! player will get a one-day limited access parent badge for free. The limited access badge will allow access to Upper Deck Entertainment events only and the exhibit hall. If you’d like to have access to all areas parent’s and players may upgrade there badge to have all access for an additional nominal fee. Event
Tickets: To avoid conflicts, we urge you to keep in mind the times of the events for which you have registered. Also keep in mind that multiple-round events can occupy long periods of your time. Refunds are given for cancelled events, overpayment of registration fees, and up to 30 minutes or more before the beginning of each event. Refunds will only be given to the original purchaser of the tickets. There will be no exceptions. No refunds will be given for any reason without the approval of the Gen Con staff. You will
need a receipt and ID as proof of purchase in order to get a
refund. Be sure to keep your receipts. No refunds will
be made after Show
