Spirit Caller sees players allocated a room in the Duel
Academy's Obelisk Dormitory, where the beginner duellists
are sent.

Since its release, the Playstation 3 has not been greeted
with the warmest of receptions. While the mainstream media
has generally been treating the PS3 MTV-style (adoration
without question), Sony's street credit has been taking
almost daily blows. From unit shortages and HDTV support
issues to a lackluster launch line-up, it seems like Sony
just isn't seeing the positive consumer response that they'd

Nintendo to replace 3.2M Wii straps
Customers can exchange straps through Nintendo service
centers
The reception of Nintendo's Wii video game console has been
enthusiastic — too enthusiastic, apparently, for the straps
that are supposed to keep the game controllers in the hands
of players.
After widespread reports of controllers flying out of the
hands of overly energetic players to cause a Wii bit of
damage to TV sets, walls and bystanders, Nintendo is
recalling 3.2 million straps to replace them with tougher
stuff.

Next Generation is reporting Nintendo's currently being sued
by a company called Interlink. Why? Because Interlink claims
to own the patent for something called a "Trigger Operated
Electronic Device" (patent: 6,850,211). What, you may ask,
does this patent cover? Answer: an "ergonomically effective
mouse for operating a computer".

GEN CON SO CAL 2006
ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SHOW
DECEMBER 7, 2006 (Seattle, WA) For the fourth consecutive
year gamers descended on the Anaheim Convention Center for
Gen Con So Cal, the West Coastıs largest consumer gaming
convention. Over 72 exhibitors participated in the 4-day
event which brought out nearly 18,000 enthusiastic attendees
to participate in the Best four Days of Gaming!
³Gen Con So Cal is really beginning to take shape as a show
of its own,² says Peter Adkison, CEO of Gen Con, LLC. ³We
were very pleased this year with the great gaming events
that took place and enthusiasm that you could feel on the
show floor and at the off-site events as well.²
Games are the biggest draw for Gen Con So Cal and guests
were not disappointed in this yearıs offering. From featured
board games to RPGıs from TCGıs to E-games, there was no
shortage of action with over 1,000 game events taking place
over the four days. Exhibitors brought in some amazing
events ranging from casual to highly competitive.

Entertainment, which Co-Sponsored the show, drew huge
crowds for its World of Warcraft TCG Organized Play
launch release and held the biggest ever

Tournament seen at any Gen Con. They also awarded over
$250,000 in prize money with a $40,000 check going to
the winner of their $1,000,000 Pro Circuit. With over
1500 players and 4400 total tournament events over the
weekend, Upper Deck was quite the hit at Gen Con.

Games launched the Spoils, hyped as the best tournament
play TCG ever.

the Coast ran tournaments for Dreamblade, Star Wars
Miniatures, as well as Magic: The Gathering qualifier

was at the show, entertaining fans with its fully
immersive walk-through simulation of a Dungeons &
Dragons adventure, now linked to an ongoing story arc.

games were a big draw at the show in the eGame Arena,
featuring tournaments for popular video and console
games.

Girls Club of Anaheim received $1,919.88 as the
recipient
of charitable funds raised at Gen Con So Cal through the
generous support of attendees.
