Hello Pojo Fans,

Orcustrated Babel helps Orcust monsters by doubling their potential.

A Field Spell, so very serachable still, that makes Orcust monsters in the grave or Orcust Link Monsters able to use their effects as Quick-Effects. Not sure we’ve ever had a card that allows for that, and for good reason: it can be broken.

Immediately you have any effect that is strictly Trigger or Ignition on your turn become a weapon against your opponent on their turn. Galatea can get back another Orcust that’s banished and pull a spell/trap from the deck. Knightmare can use its banish to Foolish Burial effect, Brass Bombard drops an Orcust from your hand onto the field, Harp Horror Special Summons from the deck, and Cymbal Skeleton Special Summons from the grave. All these monsters give you field presence in the End Phase for next turn or walls to defend. If that wasn’t enough, Babel can add itself back to the hand as a good 1-for-1 which isn’t really a 1-for-1 in the archetype, as you want Orcust monsters in the grave.

Orcust don’t have many Main Deck monsters in the archetype at the moment, and that is why this card isn’t as broken as it could be yet. Can you imagine other archetypes with this card?

Let’s go straight to the good stuff. Orcustrated Babel turns good monsters into great monsters. This Field Spell is very searchable and completely free. All it does in it its very unique effect. Your Orcust Link Monsters on the field or Orcust monsters in the grave can activate their effects as quick effects. Monster effects are great and turning them into either turn nukes can be devastating. This is a great Field Spell because instead of pumping attack or doing something great when it’s destroyed it grants monsters to do their best more often than they could on their own. Also, this effect has a lot of future potential because there will probably be more Orcust monsters coming in future sets. If that wasn’t enough, Orcustrated Babel can get itself out of the grave at the cost of a discard from your hand  any turn after it was sent to the grave. So now Foolish Burial Goods can set this up to be used during your next turn. Of course Terraforming is better, but all options should be considered for a great card in a great archetype.

Next up is the Field Spell that makes Orcust monsters Quick Effects because the cards naturally having that would of most certainly been too good, here’s Orcustrated Babel.

Babel is a Field Spell that allows you to activate the effects of Orcust monsters in the graveyard and Link Monsters with Orcust in their original name you control as Quick Effects. This bumps the Orcust power level up to 11 as Galatea can set Counter Traps on your opponent’s turn (even though you can’t activate them) and you can use Cymbal Skeleton to revive the Xyz on your opponent’s turn, which is great. Longrisu is another card to benefit from this as well as Orcustrion. During your Main Phase, if this card is in the graveyard, except the turn it was sent there, you can send a card from the hand to the graveyard to add this back to the hand. Nice recovery to make sure you can keep it on the field, though it would suck for it to get banished. Banishing isn’t as common, though, and with this being so searchable, one is just fine in the Orcust deck, but don’t let that distract you from how important it is.

Speaking of Orcustrated Babel, here’s the Field Magic card itself.  Everything here is pretty simple, but let’s look.  You get all your theme Monster Effects from the Graveyard, as well as theme Link ones as Quick Effects, which is phenomenal for anybody.  Also, it cycles from the Graveyard back to your Hand by discarding a card (so long as it wasn’t the turn it went to the Graveyard).

This Deck moves pretty fast as it is, and everything being Quick (literally) this makes things move in overdrive.  As good as this card is, I honestly don’t see it as a focal card to the Deck.  I wouldn’t use more than one.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great asset absolutely, but more than one just seems like clutter to me.

Art:  Hmm…Babel is somewhat represented here.  Not to get too religious, but that is supposed to represent a mechanical tower of babel I’m sure, which it does.  The effect for Quick Effects does prioritize first, which is appropriate enough.  Pretty plain for me though 3/5
