Welcome to YOU pick the review week.
For the last couple weeks on the message boards
we’ve been running a poll to determine this week’s
reviews. Today’s review is our runner up in the
Ships department, the Darkhawk II, which not only is
a great ship, but has a nifty backstory as well.
The Darkhawk II
is one of the best ships point for
point in the entire game. For 10 stinkin’ points
your get EIGHT cargo spots. All you need to do is
throw a helmsman and explorer aboard, maybe
Calico Cat or another crew with treasure
bonuses, and you’re good to go. Sure, her ability
is a negative one, but really, if you load her up to
capacity, there’s something wrong with your play
style. Always leave one cargo spot open. Heck if
you’ve got a Fruit out there, you might want to
leave a few spots open.
I typically don’t check the auction
listings for Uncommons, but something told me that
Darkhawk is an exception. Sure, there’s the
regular listings closing at under two bucks, but
then there’s one that closed at a whopping $7.50! I
don’t think I’d spend that much on an uncommon, but
someone did. I think it’s safe to say that she’s
the most playable uncommon, and the most desirable,
with early meta-games involved multiples in a fast
treasure hauling fleet.
