Once per turn, you may eliminate one of this ship's
crew to give her an extra action. After looking at
treasure on a wild island, you may trade any one
treasure from that island for a random treasure on
any other wild island. This ship must load the
traded treasure.

Not a bad crew, but a little expensive if you ask
me. For four points, you can ignore the first
successful hit your ship takes each turn, provided
you have all your masts. So basically I extend my
lifespan somewhat, but the moment they hit me twice
in a turn (which isn't that uncommon with a good
size ship or a gunship) this guy becomes a waste of
points and a waste of a cargo slot. Not really my
idea of an awesome crew member. He can do stuff, and
give you temporary invincibility (always nice), but
he becomes useless the moment they get a couple of
good hits in.

Five points is a lot for a crew member. Let's
see...you get the sacrifice ability, which is
already on Captain Blackheart. This is a very
powerful ability, but it's better on Blackheart
because he also has the standard Captain ability.
His other effect is pretty neat but not that useful.
Whenever you load treasure with his ship, you can
exchange one treasure from that island for another
one from another island (without looking at the
second one). This can let you dodge annoying unique
treasure that your opponent might be using, which is
pretty cool. But I'm not sure that is worth five
points overall. The ability fits a treasure hauling
ship, which have to be light on crew, and his
sacrifice ability begs you to load the ship with
crew (also a good target for Mermaids). Sure, by
sacrificing you can free up slots for treasure, but
you need to load up in the first place, and if
you're playing Pirates, those crew points are better
spent on a gunship with Blackheart.

Joaquin Vega has an interesting ability But after
two hits from a ship, it becomes a waste of
crew(unless you have a shipwright). Four points is a
little too much for his ability. three or two would
be reasonable. This crew could be on any ship but in
treasure haulers or killer gunships it would be at
its fullest. 2.5/5
Don Pedro Gilbert
A sacrifice ability with a treasure catagory
effect-this crew could be on any ship. The ship that
would benifit the most is probably a treasure hauler
because you can sacrifice a crew to get closer to
the treasure gaining a cargo space. Then you could
try to find the most valued treasure to bring to
your home island or fort. 3.5/5 - if you can find
the right way to use it
