Admiral Robert Blake
Hey, didn't we just review this guy's Spanish
counterpart last week?
He's the same cost for the exact same ability,
except he's English and he links. Wee. The link is
sweet, but this guy still isn't worth 5 points
unless EVERYONE is playing Barbary Corsairs in your
area, and I doubt that's happening. Also, I don't
typically mention sealed, but play him in sealed if
you get an English ship to put him on.
Rating: 2.5/5 (but a 4 in sealed :)
Lawrence
Another English crew member for today. He links to
the HMS Durham, which is an OK ship, but I'll save
that for later. Anyway, 5 points lets you shut off
an opponent's crew member or ship that is in S range
every turn. That's not actually that bad. 5 points
is slightly pricy for my tastes, but drop this on a
gunship and basically go and kick the crap out of
your opponent while shutting down their best crew,
making it harder for them to counterattack. Still
kinda expensive at 5 points, but try it out. I
probably will at some point.
Rating: 3/5
