Rattlesnake
Today we finish off american support week with the
tiny ship, the Rattlesnake. (which I want a copy
off. I want a good amount of 2-5 pointed ships for a
fun fleet) The Rattlesnake best characteristic is
it's cargo space. 5 for a 2-masted, 5 point ship is
just awsome. Maybe stick a single helmsman on and
you got a low-costed treasure hauler of awsomeness.
Its cannon's are average, but could help out in a
jam. That effect is where you need to watch for
though. English ships getting a +1 on it could spell
doom if you don't watch it. I'm using an English
fleet at the moment so watch out for me if using
this thing. Cause I'll head right for it. :)

Rattlesnake
This is a very, very undercosted ship with a
drawback. For a measly 5 points you get a 2-master
with a 3S and a 3L cannon, 5 (!) cargo spaces, and L
movement. That is obviously a very undercosted body,
so it must have some kind of drawback, right? Well,
if your opponent is using England, basically,
they're going to slaughter this guy quickly.
To be honest, though, I do not think the drawback is
as bad as it sounds. I mean, sure, you get smashed
by England, but this thing only has 2 masts anyway,
meaning it would probably get smashed by any 4 or
5 masted ship. It's even better if you know you are
not going up aginst England. In that case I would
definitely try to fit this guy in; it'll get shot
down quickly, with only 2 masts, but it also only
costs 5 points and can deliver some payback. It
would be really nice if this had 2S/2L instead of
3S/3L but then it'd probably cost 8 points instead.

Cargo 5
Ability: English ships get +1 against this ship.
The Americans don’t have many low point ships, so
this little pea-green boat is a bit of a must for
any serious American fleet builder - especially
since she holds an above average 5 cargo – generous
indeed for such an inexpensive vessel.
At a single L, her move distance is a bit stingy -
but 5 slots give you ample space to put a helmsman
aboard to bring her up to a more respectable L+S -
although still not great compared to the very best
S+S+S (+S!) treasure runners.
She also needs an explorer for efficient treasure
grabbing - but all this for 8 points still amounts
to a pretty good package. Her guns are strictly
average, and she has one of those pesky negative
abilities. But let’s face it, you aim to keep
Rattlesnake out of harm’s way in any case. All in
all, as long as you don't expect to win running
battles with her – pretty good.

Rattlesnake
I like this ship, not only does it have a cool name
but it's a very cheep 2 mast ship. At 5 points and
it has cargo space for 5. These cannon really don't
scare me since they are average and would only serve
me for defensive purposes. Its ability that "English
ships get +1 to their cannon rolls against this
ship." Also doesn't scare me, quiet frankly this is
one of those ships that I would be willing to play
against the English because its so cheap and there's
plenty of other factions out there that you can run
into. Still if you didn't want to use it against an
English opponent just substitute another ship in its
stead. Still for 5 meager points I'd go against the
likes of any Red Coat any day. I would love to stick
a helmsmen on this ship to increase that movement
and wala I've got a cheep treasure hauler that can
pay for itself in the gold it brings back.
