Powder Pete - EC-011
Today we have the English Crew: Powder Pete.
According to his flavor text, he took off his
superior's right arm, so now he is his right hand
man. *cricket noise* *cricket noise* Yeah, not
funny. But, Powder Pete... Carbon Charile... Do they
have anything to do with a carbonated powder drink
mix? That would have been funny on the flavor text.
But is he a worthwile crew? My sources say no. maybe
if he didn't take up a cargo space and was 0 points,
his usability would be a lot higher. But alas, he is
not. He is 2 points and only gives a single point
addition to a gold when you unload. Which, by the
way, you could have used the cargo space to just
take a gold (that could be of a higher form anyway).
There are better crew out there. But if you find
yourself in lack of a single gold point to win all
the time, your welcome to use him.

Powder Pete
Powder Pete is one of a number of characters with
this modest ability.
In simple terms, you pay two extra points, in return
for which, you can gain one extra treasure (victory)
point, when you unload gold on your home island.
It seems a bit of a thin deal to me.
Given that in a typical 40 – 50 point game, you are
chasing 20 – 25 victory points, I suppose that one
extra point might make a difference, and might be
worth sacrificing two build points for... But
personally, I’d always be looking to make that
points investment in something more useful – like a
ship with bigger guns or greater cargo capacity!
My rating – 2/5. Pete’s alright - but a bit feeble.
