Ability: If this ship wins a boarding party, she can
take as much treasure from the other ship as she can
carry.
The Fuchuan used to be the Clear Wind, and is
roughly equivalent to that older ship. She'll make
an okay secondary fighter. With her Junk keyword,
she's a natural for ramming enemy gold ships,
boarding to do what mischief she may, and then
unleashing all her cannons to finish off the prey.
At least, that's the theory.
In reality, she has to have a Helmsman or she'll
never catch anything.
If she means to fire those cannons in the same turn
she rams, then a Captain is necessary. Now you're
down to one free cargo, which makes her ability
useless. You can skip the Captain so you can rob two
treasures, but that costs you the ability to move
and shoot. With her less-than-average cargo, there's
no way to make this ship an effective boarder. And
12 points for a fighter with three average cannons
isn't a good value; you'd be better off getting the
Longshanks, with the same cannons and S+L speed for
half the cost.
The Fuchuan belongs in that sad anchorage of ships
that aren't really bad, but aren't good enough to
justify using more than once.
